  • Such a wonderful place to stay. A beautifully furnished home with such lovely warm vibe to it. You feel yourself relax the moment you step through the door. My room at the top was delightfully cool with the through breeze and although there was air con I didn't need it. Such great views of the sunrise. The breakfasts were a legend, all home made including bread and jams.
The location is a quiet secluded one, away from the noise and bustle of traffic so you really feel like you are getting away from it all.
Thank you BArbara and Henry for being such warm and helpful hosts....not forgetting Milo who's there to welcome you with tail wagging gusto!!
A tip for newbies - a torch is an essential.

  • Staying at the Hibiscus guest suite with Barbara was great. The space is beautiful and clean, the staff is friendly, and the location is great. It's in a great neighborhood with no cars so you're very free to explore the rice paddies and surrounding shops (including massage places, art galleries, restaurants and more) and is about a 10 minute walk to the center of town. This was one of the highlights of my trip and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Ubud.

  • we stayed 2 weeks in the villa Semua Suka. The room upstair is spacious and sunny. We had our independance with our private bathroom and two balcons. The house is decorated with exquisite taste, and the garden with the pool, even it is small, is gorgeous. Henry and Barbara are perfect hosts, very attentive, giving good tips on restaurant, drivers, things to see. We enjoyed our discussion and loved to play with their dog "MILO". The housekeeper PIA, regaled us every morning with her very good jam and her big smile. We recommend higly to stay here if you go to UBUD.

  • We couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable stay at the Hibiscus Suite. Very comfortable beds, pillows, gorgeous room, modern amenities and amazing hosts, who are extremely accommodating and kind.
The pool was lovely and with two private balconies off our room, we loved waking up and spending the morning on the day bed watching the sun rise over the tree tops.
Barbara and Henrys home felt like staying with a welcoming friend, their house was very modern, beautiful and creatively designed.
We fell in love with the adorable pug Milo and found it hard to resist sneaking him home in our suitcase with us.
Thank you for having us, we would be happy to recommend the Hibiscus suite.

  • The Hibiscus Guest Suite was everything I was dreaming of..beautiful sunrise and sunset views, stylish decor, a comfortable bed and the overall feel of being in that boutique chic that Vogue Traveller magazine captures. Often sought, seldom found! Barbara is the art and ideas inspiration that creates this warm, inviting tropical oasis. This is the first property I've stayed at where the people in it were more engaging than the tourist activities. Ask to see Barbara's hand made jewellery creations! I adore the one I bought for a lovely memory of my stay in heaven.

  • A stunning and peaceful place to stay in Ubud. Great variety for breakfast (the rice pancakes filled with fresh fruit and topped with fresh coconut are divine). Wonderful hosts. Excellent yoga studio and cafe very close to the house. Keen to keep returning.

  • A little piece of paradise is what you will find in Barbara and Henry's place. The best of my stays in Airbnb so far.
My friend and I felt like home all the time. The breakfast was super delicious and with all home made jams and bread. The staff was always very helpful and friendly and the place, well you can get an idea from the pics. Excellent choice! Totally recommended! Don't miss the opportunity to stay here!

  • Our first night in Ubud was a stay in the only room on the 2nd floor of Henry's and Barbara's place. We were as touched by both their warmth and welcome as we were by their beautiful house! It's the kind of house I think most people wished they owned but few would get all the elements so right! It's even more gorgeous than in the pictures!
Over the next few days of our stay with Henry and Barbara, and their wonderful housekeeper Pia, we felt totally cared for yet they were not intrusive in any way. There was also a huge selection of DVDs to choose from. Even their dog Milo was the perfect gentleman: you'd have thought it was hospitality trained!
Our room had 2 chill balconies both of which we enjoyed lounging in at different times of the day depending on where the sun was. As the house sits on high ground, you would not guess that it was hot as the breezes were really cool. And if you still felt hot, there was their pool and a truly beautiful garden to enjoy. We felt no need for the former but certainly enjoyed the latter whilst being served really delicious breakfasts for the few days we stayed with Henry and Barbara. Thank you both, and Pia - not just for getting our laundry done but all the little extras of home-made black bean bread and coconut cake and the varied breakfast options you whipped up. Henry and Barbara - you've trained her really well!
We so wished for the umpteenth time that we had booked your place earlier and not have to move out when your next guests turned up. Our loss, their gain!

About
My husband and I have had a love affair with Bali for many years, buying our Villa Sunrise on the beach in 2004, opening an Indonesian furniture and art gallery in Santa Fe New Mexico, organizing yoga and meditation retreats, and now having built our Villa in the ricefields of Ubud. Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun were built in 2011 to western standards with a Balinese esthetic. We have decorated the villa with high quality Balinese art, furniture and artifacts. Villa Sunrise, Villa Semua Suka and Bungalow Jepun are our 'homes' not 'hotels'........welcome Home!
