Our space is a two bedroom, two bath apartment, with a den/solarium that acts as a part-time office, just minutes away from Davie Street, Yaletown, and the West End of Vancouver. We are located just a short walk to both the Granville Skytrain and to Yaletown Skytrain, and a minute walk from both Granville Street and Burrard Street, two major bus routes where you can catch buses to all parts of Vancouver as well as to a number of Skytrain stations.
If you are a single person or a couple, you will have your own private bedroom and bathroom and the cost is as per the Airbnb cost. The kitchen and the rest of the apartment is shared. If you are looking to rent the entire apartment, you can have both bedrooms, and use of the whole apartment, if available when I am away. Simply write me a message, and I can let you know if it is available as well as what the rental price will be. Generally, the cost is double what I charge for the rental of the one room.
I do not have cable TV. I do get basic cable only from Oct-Mar. Instead, I watch all TV shows, news stations such as CBC, CNN, BBC, etc directly from their websites as all have live feeds. There is wireless highspeed Internet and an HDMI cable to my 46inch TV for you to do this, watch movies, Netflix, etc.
Some of the amenities of my building are as follows. One, we have a dry sauna which is nice to use after a long day. There is a small simple gym, with a number of bikes and stairclimbers to use. There is also a pool table and a ping pong table to use, on a first come, first serve basis.
My neighbourhood is great in that the biggest decision you have when going out is what kind of mood you are in. Granville Street has theatres, music clubs and movies, and a rowdy nightlife. Yaletown has trendy shops, pubs and restaurants. Davie Street and the West End is a great neighbourhood, full of restaurants and diverse local everyday shopping. If you don't feel like making or walking far for your morning coffee, a Starbucks is located at ground level of my building. Of course, a short walk away is the seawall if you wish to walk or bike to the Olympic Village or around Stanley Park.
A couple of last points.
I have listed set check-in and check-out times, however I can be flexible on these times if needed depending. Just let me know your times and usually a solution can be found.
My building is very secure, each floor requires a fob to access, and parking requires a fob as well. There is an on-site resident manager, who is great. Many of the people in the building are great as well.
I do live in the heart of downtown near some lively areas, which means that the buzz of downtown is always present during the day, and during the evening on weekends. During the summer, downtown Vancouver is VERY lively with festivals, Fireworks, street closures for events, etc. If you love downtown, it is perfect. If you are from a quiet area, and prefer quiet areas, do not book downtown. While the majority of people who have stayed at my place have been fine, those that come from quieter areas may find a downtown buzz new to them, so I have put earplugs beside the bed.
I also have a great cat who is friendly, so last, but not least, have fun with my cat!
The rules are pretty simple, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
That being said, please treat my home like you would treat your own home. If however, you do not have respect for your home, please do not come here.
Other than that, please enjoy yourself, the kitchen is yours to use, and please feel free to use some of the items in the fridge such as ketchup, etc, as well as some of the spices, vinegars, etc, if you wish to cook or make meals during your stay. Coffee is in the freezer, and there is a grinder if you like to make your own coffee. I will be there to help you, if not, a friend of mine will meet with you and help you with whatever you need as well as introduce you to our home.
Please keep your bedroom door closed so that the cat cannot access the room.
As well, if you do wish to feed my wonderful cat, she will be very grateful, and she LOVES guests.
Otherwise, have fun and enjoy the neighbourhood!
E/thing went really well. The apartments location is really good. You can reach e/thing by foot. The apartment itself was very clean and cozy.
Wallace made me feel very welcomed and cared for. Even though he left for Italy right after I arrived, he texted me throughout my stay to make sure everything was going well. The apartment was clean. The description of the apartment is accurate. I'd recommend staying here! I really loved Lilo the cat. She was a sweetie! The neighborhood is convenient. Being completely unfamiliar with Vancouver, I felt that everything I needed was accessible and close by at this location. This was my first time using airbnb and after this experience, I plan on using it again.
We spent an exciting weekend in Vancour and had a great stay at Wallace's place. We didn't get to meet Wallace in person but his friend Sasha was very kind and gave us a warm welcome, the same goes for Lilo the cat.
Located in the heart of downtown, this appartement truly is the right place to stay at if you're looking for pubs, clubs and restaurants within minutes.
The only thing improvable might be the cat's haircut; but I guess that's a matter of taste ;) besides that Lilo is a very lovely lat cat.
Wallace stayed up till 11pm and even met us out the front of his apartment! The place was very tidy and new. We managed to cook 2 meals in his kitchen. There was a bit of road noise (as is clearly stated in the listing) but we both slept straight through it each night. Fantastic location! We walked to Stanley park, Davie St, Granville St and a nearby beach. We didn't even need the public transport. Thanks Wallace.
My husband and I stayed at Wallace's place for two days in June 2014. His place is VERY convenient to anywhere you could want to go to in downtown Vancouver -- you can walk anywhere. For those who like to bike, there are plenty of places to rent bikes and plenty of bike lanes. (We didn't get to do this, but I'm just putting that out there for those would like to check it out!) His area is super safe. It can get a little loud at night, but we read previous reviews and brought our own earplugs and had no issues getting to sleep.
Wallace was a superb host! He is so polite and is very knowledgeable about Vancouver. He's also a cool guy to talk to. Lilo the cat is super cool, too. She's named after "Lilo and Stitch," so that gave her 300 bonus points because that movie is awesome.
If you are thinking about checking out Vancouver, stay at Wallace's. You will not be disappointed.
Wallace was friendly and flexible. The bedroom with ensuite bathroom was spacious and clean. The location is wonderful, easy walking to most things and Wallace kindly made his building's secured guest parking available to us. While there are some street noise overheard from the bedroom, they're normal traffic noises and something we can easily sleep through, however a noise sensitive person may require earplugs.
We had an enjoyable time at Wallace's beautiful place. His lovely cat was, as introduced by Wallace, sometimes a bit crazy but very much entertaining. Wallace helped us as much as he could which we highly appreciated. All in all, fab host and location!

My name is Wallace and I welcome you to the city of Vancouver.

You are more than welcome to enjoy my home, and of course you will enjoy downtown Vancouver.
