Note to those of you who have not used Airbnb:
• If the website allows you to respond to me regarding the dates you are interested in, those dates are available. It won't let you try to arrange a stay with dates that are already booked.
• To find out the pricing of your stay plug in the dates, enter your credit card information to pay and before sending to me for my acceptance you will see the final price. This price includes my rental fee ($135.80/night after AIRBNB deductions), $100 cleaning fee plus the 7-12% fees AIRBNB charges you on top. I can't tell you what those are as they have their own formulas. This is the same procedure for any AIRBNB rentals.

**If the apartment is booked for the days you're looking for or you are two groups looking to rent near each other, ask us about our friends' space nearby**
Either Luis or Jeff will be at the building to welcome you with keys and instructions on transportation and shopping.
Interaction with Guests
You will have us to answer normal questions you have as we live in the building in other apartments.
Our neighborhood is made of one and two family homes of working class people with families. There are several schools in the blocks around us so you will see students in their uniforms on the streets. Neighbors like to sit on their porches and say hello as you walk by. It is safe and comfortable.
Local buses will take you to New Jersey shopping and connect you to other forms of transport, both in NJ and NYC.
Other Things to Note
We supply bedding, towels, hair dryers and an iron with ironing board. There are umbrellas to borrow next to the door in the vestibule.
One person responsible for lease. Up to 4 occupants allowed unless prior arrangements made.
Where it says "no charge for extra people" in the short list of options this means no extra charge for up to 4 people. Any other arrangements must be made with the host specifically before allowed.
Luis is very friendly and approachable. I like the fact that he prepared some pamphlets for us to explore around the city. Overall , the stay is wonderful. I would definitely have my highest recommendation to stay at this place.
The hosts were both very welcoming and accommodating. It was a pleasure staying at their apartment, which was very nicely decorated, clean, and practical. We loved taking the ferry to New York, the view was beautiful.
Accommodation was as described and was perfect for us (2 couples). Spotlessly clean, spacious, light, and airy. Host were perfect, giving the information we needed, but not intrusive. Just 2-3 mins walk to the bus stop into New York ($3 single journey - busses every 15 minutes - Sphinx or Johnny's Taxis, we never waited more than 5 mins as the two bus companies run independently) Journey time approx. 15-25 mins.
From the bus stop and along the whole promenade, you have the most stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline - I suggest you go and see it at night. This is the PERFECT place to stay to visit new York and if we visit again we will check if Jeffery's place is available first.
My top food suggestions:
Breakfast "El Pio Pio" (5 mins walk) where you can get a Breakfast for less than $5 (Coffee, Orange Juice, Bottle of Water, Omelette, and either Sausage or Bacon).
For Dinner try the "Churrascaria Brazeino" - BBQ for under $15 you get a huge amount of meat, 2 sides, and a soft drink. They don't serve alcohol, but there is a Liquor store next door and no corkage fee :)
Thank you Jeff and Luis, we loved staying at your place!
Jeff and Luis were there to meet us on arrival and made us feel very welcome.
The apartment was beautiful (very clean) and with 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms, met our needs as a family of 4 very well. There were plenty of clean towels, hot water and a very well appointed kitchen. It was also constantly lovely and warm (it was freezing outside!). Being in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, we always had a good night's sleep - the beds were the most comfortable we've EVER slept in!
We found travelling into the heart of Manhattan from the apartment very easy, about 20 minutes; Jitney buses extremely regularly from the bus stop 2 minutes away. An added bonus was the fabulous view of the Manhattan Skyline from West New York in the mornings and all lit up at night on our return in the evenings, of which we never tired.
On our arrival at JFK, we got a taxi (approx $120 negotiable fee, non-metered rate not including tolls and tip) directly to the apartment as we were just too tired after our long journey to take the public transport option, especially with 2 kids and 8 pieces of luggage. However when we left, we opted to go via public transport using the The New Jersey Transit Bus as these have storage underneath for suitcases (you have to open it and put it in yourself, but it's not a problem.) They take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street, near Times Square.
All in all we were extremely happy with the location and the apartment and would not hesitate to recommend it. We would definitely stay there again.
Von der ersten bis zu letzten Minute luef alles vollkommen problemlos. Jeffrey gab uns rechtzeitig viele hilfreiche Tipps.
It was our first time doing AirBnB and I don't think we could have picked a better place. Driving to the apartment was no problem (we arrived around 3pm, better to get there at 3pm or earlier, because there can be some traffic in the area). Louis greeted us and helped us get parking sorted out (thank you so much!) and gave us an overview of the apartment. He explained the buses to take to get in and out of the city. The bus stop is super close by (there will be a helpful map for you!) NJ transit buses were 3.20, taking you right to Port Authority, and from there you can walk to tons of attractions & museums. The Sphynx and Johnny's buses were $3.00, and running 24 hours on the weekends which is great if you want to experience NYC nightlife! It is a really beautiful, convenient and comfortable space -- even better than the pictures! There are new sofa & chairs and decor in the living space and a really great television. There's washer and dryer to use and everything you'll need for cooking (pots, pans, etc) which was so convenient. In the neighborhood, there's a grocery, Chinese, pizza, liquor stores, etc, all within a minute or two walk. I really have nothing but good things to say about Jeff and Louis' place! Louis was flexible & available and willing to help if we had any questions, which really relieved the stress!
