Our home is light and bright, and has a really unique set up with vaulted ceilings! We absolutely love the large skylight window that lets in tons of natural light and nice breezes :)
You will be hard pressed to find another apartment like this in Tokyo. The loft fits 3 people comfortably, as there is a double bed in the loft area and the third person can sleep on the cozy couch. We’ve had some guests who roll out a futon for a 4th person, but you might find it to be a tight fit.
This is a private apartment and your home away from home. It comes fully equipped with everything you will need during your stay, including freshly pressed towels, body wash, shampoo & hair conditioner, hair dryer, and an iron. And best of all, we will be providing you with free use of a portable pocket Wi-Fi device that you can use in the apartment and while sightseeing around Tokyo!

Shimokitazawa is one of Tokyo’s best-kept secrets! Located just 5 minutes from Shibuya and 8 minutes from Shinjuku, the neighborhood has a relaxed feel, and is a popular place for hip Japanese youth and music lovers. It is the place to be if you like the arts, independent music clubs, trendy Japanese boutiques, cozy cafes, and delicious Japanese restaurants. Don’t take our word for it- read our guest reviews to learn about why you will instantly fall in love with this neighborhood!
From Narita or Haneda Airport, the quickest option is to take a bus, which will drop you off right next to Shibuya Station. From there, you can board the Inokashira Train one stop to Shimokitazawa Station. After you make a reservation, we will email you very detailed step-by-step directions so that you can check into the apartment easily.
Other Things to Note
Unfortunately, we cannot allow any children younger than 5 years old. Thank you for your understanding.
The following two issues are critically important for you to follow during your stay at the apartment:
Noise - The apartment is very quiet and our neighbors value the peaceful harmonious living that is synonymous with being in Japan. Please refrain from talking loudly near or in the apartment. Especially in the evenings, please keep noise to a minimum.
Trash - The separation of trash and recyclables is very strict in Japan. Please follow the instructions we have provided for you in the apartment for how to properly separate and dispose of the following 4 categories into 4 separate bags:
1. General/Combustible Garbage
2. Plastic Bottles
3. Glass Bottles
We are responsible for our guests staying at the apartment so if there are any noise or garbage violations, we are liable to receive a roughly 100 USD fine (10,000 Japanese yen) for each offense and also run the risk of getting evicted when repeat violations occur.
Please ensure you follow all of these rules while in Japan and if you have any questions about the above, please don't hesitate to ask us for further clarification.
Thank you once again for booking with us and we hope that you have a wonderful stay in Tokyo!
My girlfriend and I had a great 5 night stay at the Bright Loft. The apartment is just outside of the main area of Shimokitazawa, which would be 5-10 minute walk.
The PDF instructions on how to get to the place are great, easy to follow, with lots of pointers and hints on the way.
The apartment itself is super cute! There is a 9 foot ladder up to the bed area, the bed is super comfy, we didn't do any cooking but there is all the equipment there for it, the place was very clean, there are well written instructions for pretty much everything in the apartment.
Some taller people may find the bathroom a little small, but this is pretty much the norm for Japanese households.
Shimokita is a really interesting place to stay, we ate out everyday and shopped ourselves silly.
Great area and a great place to stay while checking it out.
It was a good experience overall, the apartment was comfortable and the host very nice and helpful. The downside is that the apartment is pretty tricky to find even if it is actually located not so far from Shimokitazawa station.
I thought it was a bit smaller than it looks on the pictures and that it wasn't perfectly clean.
Our stay here was fantastic! We could not be happier with the location and with the place itself. Quaint and simple apartment, but definitely a great Japanese experience still if that is what you're after. The directions given to us made our journey much easier and less stressful too, and they are even spiced up with activities you can do along the way (such as stopping into local stores and trying amazing coffee samples!)
Our time here was so great that we have decided to come back to the exact same area of Shimokitazawa! There is just so much to explore in this gem of a city, and seeing as this AirBnB apartment is in the heart of it all, why wouldn't you want to stay here?
Host is great with contact and with communication. You get a Pocket WiFi as well which will become your best friend and the handiest device you wish you already had.
I'm not sure what else I can say but if you want to embrace Japan for the quirky beauty it has, but without the full hectic streets of Shibuya or Shinjuku, give this place a go and you'll love Shimokita!
If you want to stay in this neighborhood, and you should, because it's great -- a lot of great coffee shops, vintage clothing, cool little bars, record stores and Meccas for sneaker heads -- it's like Japan's Brooklyn, this is a great place to base out of. It's small, so would be really tight with three people, but great for 1 or 2. Hosts are very responsive. Directions are ace. Highly recommend.
Neighborhood was awesome. Loft was pretty much exactly as described. I don't think we could have made it through our trip without the pocket wi-fi!
Nice apt nice neighborhood. Quiet. Not too bad of a walk from shimokita. There is a train station closer to the apt. But does not have express to shibuya or shinjuku. but definitely easier if you are toting luggage.

The barrista spent 20 years in NY learning coffee (and attitude). Try the espresso; it's like an espresso of an espresso. He's a true master.
Usually about 50/50 Japanese/Foreigners, a great place to meet locals and fellow travelers. Really reflects the laid back feel of Shimokita. You can bring in outside food, and drinks are only 400 yen.
