THE CABIN

The cabin was built with logs from the original family farmhouse dating back approximately 200 years. The original farmhouse was situated atop the hill and was moved down by prior owners. The cabin is warm and comfortable. It has that old time log cabin feel but with all the modern conveniences and none of the mustiness.

The master suite is on the lower level. It has a comfy king size bed with extra pillows and blankets. A wood burning stove is available for guests. A bundle of wood, kindling, and Firestarter are provided. A comfortable sitting are with a pull out sleeper (plus a comfy memory foam topper in the cedar chest) and two addition chairs, one is a glider rocker, round off the master suite. Your TV is in this area. With lots of streaming services ready to watch.

Upstairs you'll find a full kitchen with pretty much all you need to cook a gourmet meal. A 5 burner has stove and electric oven, full size refrigerator, kitchen utensils, etc.

Large dinner table with 8 chairs makes for a great gathering space. Games are provided for guests to enjoy. If you need to work, pull up a chair, there's plenty of space.

The bathroom is in the upper level. It is large with two sinks and a full-size tub. Plush towels are provided. If you left behind any necessities, we probably have them for you. A hairdryer is also provided as well as an ironing board and iron (in the upper-level closet).

The laundry room in on the upper level. All the essentials are provided.

Outside, enjoy the fire pit and birdwatching benches. Start your day with a walk in the woods behind the cabin. Surrounded by 14k acres of conservation land, birdwatching is spectacular. Ask about the Merlin app to help you ID what you hear. As the day fades to night, a bonfire sets the tone for the ideal evening.

There's a front porch with rocking chairs from which to watch the sunset. A charcoal bbq grill is outside the upper-level entrance, next to the deck. Cooking utensils are provided.

SEASONS
The area has the best climate one could ask for. Moderate temperatures most of the year allow for great outdoor enjoyment. We have great seasons in the mountains of Saluda. Spring is bright green and filled with wildflowers. Summers invites visitors to the creeks and swimming hole at Little Bradley Falls, a short hike from the cabin. Fall colors are breathtaking. Time you're visit to harvest fresh raspberries from the bushes bordering the property. Or enjoy delicious pears from two large trees in front of the log cabin.

There are AC/heat units on each floor to keep guests cool during the warmest weeks of the year, warm on even the coolest nights. Supplemental heat is also available from gas wall heaters. Best of all, there's a great wood burning stove for that authentic cabin feel.

Mobile service is available. Best service is through T-Mobile and Verizon. Wi-Fi is provided at 150mps which is great for the region. You can stream movies, work off your tablet/laptop, and chat with family and friends.

Access to the cabin is easy from Holbert Cove Road. There are no dirt roads or steep roadways to deal with. There's very little car traffic in the area, so be ready to enjoy a peaceful stay at a traditional log cabin in the mountains of North Carolina.
