The house is located on Euclid Avenue - the downtown edge of the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood - a lushly treed area that is a brief walk from the centre of the city. No need to have a car here.
The house is one of the older homes on the street - originally a store in the middle of a residential block. Built on the orchard lands of the old Gorevale estate, it is now situated right in the middle of the most popular and hip neighbourhoods of Toronto: West Queen Street West, Little Italy, Ossington, Kensington Market, Chinatown and Dundas to name a few.
The room is on the first floor where my son and I live. It is large, by Toronto standards, with a curved wall; a comfortable double bed; plush red chairs to sink into; and a desk. It is filled with artifacts from the changing neighbourhood and our lives. It is definitely not bland.
There is a guest spa washroom upstairs. There is also a guest living room, dining area, kitchen, and deck on the second floor. I also use those areas. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Public transit is only steps away, but you will be able to walk to most places. It would take you months to try all the restaurants which are a short walk away. There is internet access. Air conditioning when needed. We tend to be fairly quiet.
My time at Caroline's place was lovely. The room was very nice and very comfortable. The bed was great. The guest kitchen upstairs was also great and I was often the only one using it. It is fully stocked and made cooking away from home very easy. The bathroom is also very nice and is newly remodelled and feels like a spa. A great place to stay overall!
great place and great location.
I had a marvellous time at Caroline's. i would recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy the coolest part of Toronto.
Stayed for almost a week. The front door belies what's behind it: a modern, well renovated set of rooms, kitchen, bathroom and sitting area, plus a balcony / terrace. Very conveniently located at 5 minutes walking from trams, 7-Eleven, a Brazilian coffee shop, and a Tim Horton's (if you prefer that). Friendly host and nice neighborhood. Good price, certainly when compared to overpriced nearby options. Very much recommended!
I enjoyed my stay at Carolines place very much. I didn't feel like a stranger at all. Caroline is a very friendly person, who gave me very helpful advise and directions. Her house is in a nice and relatively quiet area in Toronto. All major sights are in walking distance and there is a tram right around the corner. Her guest rooms, bathroom and the kitchen are all clean and tidy.
Caroline has two rooms. What you should know before booking is that one is an actual room and to the other below the rooftop there is no door - only a staircase, which I was surprised to realize but did not bother at all. Somehow it was still very quiet and I slept well.
Caroline was great! Flexible with my changing arrival time, attentive in every way a good host should be, and considerate. She pointed me in the right direction for restaurants and coffee shops numerous times. I had a thoroughly relaxing stay, loved the bedroom and the common areas, and would stay here again.
It was my first time away from home and after 25 hours of flying, I reached Caroline's lovely home. The house is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures and the deck is an awesome place to relax. Caroline is one of the nicest people I have met and she has a wonderful family - all warm and accommodating. I also got to meet so many different people from across the world and it was such a nice experience. I had to even extend for a week because I could not get permanent accommodation and Caroline was so helpful and sweet that in-spite of a packed schedule managed to find me place to stay. Caroline even showed me around downtown Toronto and gave me little cooking lessons! I love her home and I am definitely going back soon and I highly recommend it to anyone spending time in Toronto and is looking for a home away from home :)
Caroline is a fantastic hostess! the house was just right: clean(! )comfortable and the location ( including the directions on how to get there) is ideal. There was an entire floor with complete kitchen for the guests and somehow Caroline mangaged to collect a wonderful collection of international visitors who all got together for visits to concerts and other activities. Caroline knows her city! no walking tour is complete without her expert tips. I was nearly scared off by the front door - and Original piece that just wants a lick of paint! but when I got inside I was bowled over by how beautifully furnished and disigned the house is. Don't forget the amazing roof terrace... but don't feed the squirrels. thanks Caro. best trip to Toronto EVER!!!!
I had a great stay at Caroline's. The room was spacious and private and the rest of the house, clean and comfortable. I will definitely recommend for anyone visiting Toronto. Great location as well!
I had a wonderful stay at Caroline's place. The location is great and the home has a very unique architecture to it. Caroline is caring and knowledgeable about the things to do in Toronto and nearby locations. I did lean on her for useful info and she was very helpful. I would recommend Caroline's place to anyone visiting Toronto and wants to be close to the downtown.
