The Space

Welcome to my nice and romantic flat in Budapest!
I am sure you will spend a great time here, it is in a very convenient location, yet it is quiet, as Feny street is a side street and we have trees in front of the window. It is situated behind Szell Kalman (former Moszkva) square on Buda side.

The flat is very modern and has high finish, eg. tiles from Italy, pinewood board floor in the room, special lighting - please have a look at the photos for details.

The famous Buda Castle is about 10 min stroll away and the Margit Island as about 15 min by tram that is in the heart of the city with its large, beautiful gardens and huge trees.
The flat is just behind Mammut shopping center (that one of the largest in Budapest, with shops, food, cinemas, clubs, etc.).

You can find a huge market (Feny utcai Piac) with wide selection of produces and other food products just opposite the house, great place to shop for your lunch or dinner, especially we Hungarians are proud of the quality and taste of our produces! In the Middle Age they called Hungary as the breadbasket for Europe - and for a reason!

Millenaris Park is 3 minutes away with a playground, live concerts and exhibitions all year around. The pedestrian zone is around the corner with cafes, restaurants, museums anything you might need is within 5 min walk, this is the Center of Buda side. Pest city center is only 3 stops by red metro-line about 15 min from the flat.

Spas are about 20 min by tram (Szt. Gellert, Rudasfurdo, Lukacs), so you can indulge yourself with the different steam rooms, swimming pools in gorgeous historical public bathes.

If you want to hike you can take one of the many buses from Moszkva square that goes into nice destinations (15-30mins) (e.g. 56 tram to Huvosvolgy, one of my favourite place to hike).

The Airport is 1 hour (3eur/person), the Keleti railway station is about 30 mins (1.5 eur/person), the Nyugati railway station is about 20 mins (1.5 eur/person) away from the flat by public transport. If you take a cab that reduces the time to circa 40 mins, 20 mins, 10 mins respectively and the price is about 18-20eur, 12eur and 7eur respectively. (In the case if you take a cab both the time and price can vary depending on traffic)

Regarding the check-in and check-out time: I am flexible on both and I would like you to be flexible too if there is another guest before or after you, so then we altogether figure our what is best for everyone! :-) Late night check-in is also possible, just let me know in advance.

It perfectly suits up to a couple plus a child. I can provide a cot on request for an additional 5eur/day. The flat is also available for photo shoots.
One of the most famous traditional confectioneries is in the house for extra indulgence, I love their hot chocolate!

High speed (50Mbit/s) Internet WiFi is available.

Let me know if you have any questions or special requests, I want to make sure you will have a pleasant stay!

Oh, yes and before I forget, I have an Italian coffee brewer now... :-)

Interaction with Guests

We can be in touch via email/phone as much as you require. Please check out the House Manual and the videos (website hidden) there for 'how-to' videos.

The Neighborhood

The second district is one of the richest districts in Budapest. It is on the Buda side, so it is much greener and the air quality is way better than in Pest. You will see the improvements in amenities, shops, cafes, markets, shopping malls, cinemas, etc. My favorite is the nearby Millenaris park, that gives a nice opportunity to chill while walking around or sitting on one of the benches.

Getting around

The flat is 2 min away on foot from Buda center, where you will find transportation virtually everywhere in Budapest. Pest center is 3 stops by the metro - about 15 min.

  • Mark is a great host, very friendly, helpful and accommodating where he can reasonably be. The flat is in a wonderful location and is so convenient to everything. A very authentic Hungarian experience I would say.

  • Loved our stay at Mark's flat. It's located on the Buda side, but a 5-10 minute public transport ride to city center (several options, huge station of bus, subway and teams is a block away). Even better, there is a huge shopping mall across the street with everything you need! The flat faces a courtyard, keeping it shaded from the hot sun and very quiet. Looks identical to the pictures, Internet is very fast, and we even made use of the stereo system. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Mark lives in another country, but he was a great host, providing instructions and answering all of our emails very quickly, checkin and checkout was simple. A great base for exploring Budapest!!

  • First of all we would like to highlight the good communication with Mark. Just after booking we received from him a very comprehensive instruction and it was easy to find and get access to the flat. We did not meet Mark in person, but he was very helpful.
Marks's apartment is in a fantastic location to get anywhere in Budapest. Less than 1,5 km's walking distance to the Fisherman's Bastion and the Castle hill situated on the Buda bank of the Danube, 2 km's walking to Vatci utca, one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares and perhaps the most famous street of central Budapest as also meters away from one of the main transport hubs of the city - Szell Kalman (former Moszkva) square. It was clean, comfortable and very quiet.
We can only recommend Mark as a host and his charming flat.

  • The place is very stylish and located at a great spot in Budapest. I did not meet Mark in person as he lives abroad, but he was very responsive and helpful. The house manual is very comprehensive and it was easy to get access to the flat. A great place to stay, very clean and comfortable. I can only recommend staying here

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Mark's apartment, place is clean and spacious. Area around is nice too and good connections to city centre. When we got to the apartment building we spent around 30- 40 mins inside trying to find the exact flat as no instructions were given, this was difficult as it was late in the evening so no one was around- I would suggest giving better instructions for guests next time. Thanks!

    Response from Mark:

I am glad you enjoyed your stay Ailidh. Sorry about not finding the apartment, however the fully detailed instruction on how to get to it was in your welcome email you received on booking (as any other guests do), so you just needed to look it up. Also you could have called me as I told you before hand you could call me anytime - however you had no working phone as you wrote later. Instructions only work if people read them, please use the welcome email next time, thanks! :-)

  • My boyfriend and I had an awesome time staying at Mark's flat! Mark was super nice and very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed to have a smooth and enjoyable visit.

The flat was clean, comfortable and in a convenient location on the Buda side. It was right near a big shopping center, metro stop, and some little food spots. Also, it is relatively close to several of the bathes and Fisherman's Bastion. Pubs, lots of restaurants and other major sites are about a 30 minute walk (or a quick metro ride) over to the Pest side.

We were super happy there and would definitely recommend it! :)

  • I was staying with a friend of mine at Mark's place for a couple of days. Communication went fast and reliable and very pleasant at all times. The apartment is beautifully decorated and a real home away from home. Clean, silent but (email hidden)ly neighborhood and easy to get around from. Highly recommended to all Buda visitors!!! Thanks Mark (and Levente for the check-in)

Hello and thanks for your interest in my flat! I was born in Budapest and had my schools there. I graduated as an Electrical Engineer and had some studies in Cultural Anthropology, too. After spending couple of years with multinational companies in IT/business consultant capacity I moved to Ireland in 2006 to work for Microsoft. In 2009 when I left MS, with few of my friends I founded our little company, Eden's Original where I work as Managing Director. Mainly we did trading with organic food, but since the market is dwindling I do more and more of IT consultancy again. I am vegetarian and I love sports. I do yoga, running, archery and whenever I can, I do horse-riding. Just because Airbnb asked me, I tell you that my favorite book now is The Way of The Wizard by Deepak Chopra. :-) I like spiritual books very much, they help me to grow. I bought my flat in 2003 and spent 5 years to gradually renovate it as it is today. There are many individual solutions, please look at the pictures! I love to travel, currently I moved to Malta, so my friend Levente will look after you, when I am not in Hungary. I traveled a lot and I understand how great it is to arrive to a nice, friendly and cool place - that you could immediately call your home - after a long exploration in the city, or before it. :-)
