Eric and Lucie's guest house is situated in the Anderlecht area, in a quiet residential neighborhood close to a shopping street. Metro station is a few steps away. The city center is a 10 minutes ride, and the European district is just a few stations further down the line. International Midi train station is a 6 stops tram ride. And there are plenty of bike-rental stations (Villo) nearby.
My house is not far from the Astrid Park, home to the famous Anderlecht football club. It's also very close the Erasmus House and its lovely garden, one of Brussels' s best kept secret. Just around the corner, you'll find "Friture René", arguably the most authentic restaurant in Brussels (http://(email hidden)/fr/resto/show/friture-rene). And after the mussles, why not take a walk to the recently inaugurated statue of Jean-Claude "the muscles from Brussels" Van Damme - a true celebration of Belgian kitsch.
While being near the city center, Anderlecht is also astonishingly close to the countryside. There are very pleasant bike rides along the canal, or to the Rue du pommier ("Apple tree street") with its nice garden pubs.
* I work on most weekdays, and I'm usually not home between 10.30 am and 7.30 pm.
I would appreciate if you could inform me as soon as possible of your arrival time, so as to find the best arrangement. (I can take a day off, or work an early/late shift).
* We expect visitors to be quiet at night.
* You can use the kitchen in the morning only. Feel free to grill some bread for your breakfast if there is any. There's jam in the fridge, and choco paste in the cupboard. You
might also want to taste the ‘‘speculoos’’ paste, made from a famous belgian biscuit. Coffee pads and tea are also available.
* We would appreciate if you could keep us informed of when you are going to use the bathroom, so as to avoid traffic jam in the morning! Please don’t use it after midnight. Towels are not provided (but if you have forgotten yours, we'll lend you some ;.)
* We try to have a reasonable energy and water consumption, both for environmental and for savings reasons. We would appreciate if you helped us achieve that.
Me and my friend stayed at Eric's place for 3 nights and it was comfortable. The house is cosy and clean and the room is beautiful. We felt very welcome and we were able to use their kitchen to have breakfast every day. The street they live in is beautiful, especially during the morning, when the sun shines down on the old cobbles. On only 200 meters distance you can find a fruit market, a bakery and some snack bars. The metro station is only 5 minutes walking. All in all this place is ideal. We could not have imagined a better stay.
Besides that, Eric and Lucie are friendly hosts. They provide you with everything you need and have a lot of leaflets about what to visit in Brussels.
Eric was very hospitable! His house was interesting, special, unforgettable, double bed under a roof. To the subway 2 minutes walk. Wish to come back again! Hello! Pupus!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay with Eric! We were warmly greeted upon arrival and were given a tour of the home right away. The home is just like the pictures. The guest suite was the perfect amount of space for the two of us. The bed was very comfortable. Eric provided a fun map of the city that we took out and about with us on our adventures. The room also has a map on the wall with suggested, and favourite activities to do while visiting Brussels. Very useful to take a look at! Overall, a really great experience and I would recommend staying with Eric to anyone. Made our trip to Brussels that much more memorable.
Eric was a very nice and kind host! Our room was great (I am a fan of lofts in general), and the bed was very comfy. There were some maps of Brussels laid out that were very helpful too. Eric let us use his kitchen (much appreciated), and his cat was super friendly! Pro-tip: the doors can be loud at night, so close them carefully! Overall good experience at Eric's place, would stay again :)
We really enjoy our stay in eric's house. We didn't had the chance to talk to him because he was on vacation. The house was perfect, everything we need was there. The house is very well located in a quiet place and near the metro. We felt welcome in the house.
Me and my friend stayed at Eric's place for two nights. The location of the apartment is really very good. It is close to the metro station and close to the city centre. Moreover, the neighbourhood is very nice and looks quite safe.
The room itself was clean, tidy and nice. There were plenty of books, tips, maps on what to see in Brussels. We really enjoyed staying at Eric's place and would stay there next time too. Eric was also very helpful and friendly:)
EU reporter, social worker & little miss thunder will be happy to welcome you. So will be Poupousse, our old cat.
