Cozy and self contained with global decor, this one bedroom, one bath ohana has parking at the door, private patio, extra outdoor hot/cold shower, full kitchen and bath, and is just two flat blocks to the beach for watching Maui's fabulous sunsets from the dunes! Beach gear included. Centrally located to shopping, restaurants, beaches and freeway access. Rural, but in town, with a kiawe forest across the street. Wake to the birds and nature. Wifi is now hardwired at this location. Holiday and High Season rates may vary. Ask about month long bookings which are available at special discounts through the summer months. (phone number hidden)
The Ohana was as advertised; clean 1 bdrm with full kitchen. It's fine place to stay if you're not looking for views, or outside space to hang out in inbetween Maui beach days and other adventures. It's located in a neighborhood with local roosters and lots of rentals/lower cost housing. Expect some noise.
Nice unit, close the beaches and the restaurants We spent a lovely holidays in Maui! Thanks!
Cute little place with all the amenities needed. Very close to all the eating areas in Kihei and their is a beach within walking distance; however, we drove around to other beaches because the one nearby seemed heavily populated with people who appear to be homeless.
I had a very nice stay at Ohana Beach Flats. Did not get to meet the host, but she was available by phone the day I checked in. The place was clean with all the promised amenities. Kihei is very convenient for exploring the island.
One minor thing to be aware of -- this place has some very loud roosters for neighbors who start cockadoodling around midnight and go all night. I'm not a great sleeper under good circumstances, so the noise made it basically impossible to sleep well. However, my understanding is that this is a feature of Maui life that is basically unavoidable if you're going to stay in a residential neighborhood. Just maybe bring earplugs. :-)
A great little one bedroom apartment, with a full kitchen and utensils. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood, within walking distance of town. My partner and I really enjoyed the place, the area, and the proximity into town and beaches.
We unfortunately never actually met Karen in person during our 10 day stay. While I understand she's probably busy with her 15+ units, it does disconnect the "personal touch" aspects of Airbnb. I would have appreciated an in-person drop-by to see how we're settling in, and if there were any questions.
There is wifi. Information is on the _business_ card in the front flap (not "wifi card"). My partner and I were confused about this initially, too, until we flipped the business card. She refers to it as "wifi card" -- remember wifi card days? Ha. But no, there is no wifi card. It's on the business card. In addition: Belkin routers aren't the most reliable; it dropped network a couple times -- a simple restart fixed (website hidden) is old school tube TV with RCA only inputs and integrated DVD player. Be sure to have RCA adapters if you want to connect up to the TV. We were, unfortunately, limited to watching movies on our laptop due to lack of HDMI inputs. No biggy--we didn't expect to have TV anyway.
We discovered only two issues with the place:
- Stove temp. gauge is broken. It won't set the right temp. The gauge just spins non-stop.
- Fridge door doesn't shut on its own .... several times we've accidentally left it open (oops). A simple prop-up on the front should fix this.
Karen has been informed of both issues (and feedback on the wifi card terminology). Hopefully they'll be fixed for the next visitor.
Sorry you had issues, I met your partner when you arrived. And you arrived early and were granted an early check in! We are on a tiny island in the Pacific and get all of our internet and TV via satellite link ups! We are actually quite rural and not even close to SF or LA in sophistication! There is hard wire and wifi internet in the (website hidden) is TV to us here and we spend so much time at the beach and snorkeling and canoe paddling, and such, that time goes by and, I don't even have a laptop!
Hope you enjoyed your stay despite out 'outback' status!
The location is fabulous for exploring the island. The unit has everything you could want on a vacation. We certainly made use of the snorkeling gear. Karen was a great host. The unit was very clean and well stocked. Thank you.
quiet cozy home, nice bedroom sitting room and full kitchen, convenient close to town.
whether it fits guests needs will depend on expectations.
I used the apt to sleep and clean up worked fine for me.
Karen's place was fantastic! Close to everything and very convenient and clean. We felt like it was home for our week there. Thank you!
Thank Karen for having us!. It was a great stay at your flat!
We stayed at the Ohana beach flats recently for a few nights. The location was great- not far from a couple of shopping centers, right off of the main highway (31 I think). The flat was clean and simple, which is exactly what we needed. The only downside was the lack of wifi, but it wasn't a big deal as we spent most of our time out exploring the island.
