About This Listing
This duplex apartment (2 floors) is perfectly located in central Paris, close to Republique and 2 minutes from Canal St Martin:
ideal for strolls by the river and to relax in one of the numerous cafes, bars, restaurants by the water, also a large green park, called Jardin Villemin, is just around the corner, where people like to sunbathe or picnic with friends.
Very practical area since you are less than 10 minutes from Marais/ Faubourg Saint-Denis, and don’t need to take taxis home at night since everything is within close walking distance (Paris taxis are expensive and often very difficult to catch at night...another reason you will want to live central...).
One of Paris' award winning bakery is just around the corner, as are great restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and the metro station Jaques Bonsergent is 1 minute away.
Famous Parisian nightclubs are a few metro stations away (Silencio club, Rex club, Social club).
The apartment has traditional wood beams and Roset designer furniture.
Wifi Internet, TV and fully furnished. New good matress. The price includes bed linen and towels.

The appartement is really great and well located we really liked it!
Close to République and the Saint Martin districts this is a well-located studio apartment. It's on the sixth floor of an older-style building which - as is very usual - does not have a lift. The building is currently undergoing some renovation work so that the entrance and stairwell is currently under repair.
The studio is small but charming, a wooden staircase leading from the living area (which also contains the kitchenette) to the bedroom, which, due to the low ceiling, contains only a mattress to sleep on. The bathroom (shower only) is located adjacent to the downstairs room. It is not deluxe but very serviceable. The living area contains some well-worn but perfectly usable furniture. Wi-fi worked (website hidden) not used.
The property is usually cleaned ahead of arrival by the host's cleaner, but on our visit the cleaner was unavailable so we checked in without it being cleaned. We were lucky the studio was left in a good state by its previous guests. We agreed in advance with the host to nevertheless refund the cleaning charge, which was promptly actioned by the host on our return.
Guests check themselves in at this property. No-one greets them. Upon booking a code to access the building is provided with instruction to locate a key for the studio. This process worked fine for us.
This property offers value for money, a good location and is not without charm. Those looking for luxury should probably keep looking, but for those on a relative budget it's a good property. Would use again.
WIFI ok!
This was our first airbnb experience, and it was pretty good all things considered. We stayed for three nights and I have to say the place quickly felt like home. We would certainly stay there again - it's in our favourite neighbourhood and sensibly priced. I'll list a few small problems we had, but I don't intend for this to make the review sound bad... just things to be aware of if you stay there!
Nobody met us at the apartment, so we struggled a little to get in. Firstly the code to the outer door is buried in the airbnb profile, so we had to go online to find it. Secondly the inner door (to the apartment) doesn't unlock unless you pull it towards you while turning the key. Took me a while to figure that out!
The apartment is on the sixth floor, but the climb is fine if you are reasonably fit. The stairwell is in very bad condition though, like a building site, and not all of the lights were working! Once inside we found the flat was pretty clean, and although some of the furniture is a little old the bed was very comfortable. Nice bedding too. Being on the top floor means the flat is very quiet at night - anyone who visits Paris often will know how problematic noise can be, so this is a huge bonus and makes the climb worthwhile. We slept really well.
The kitchen is ok if you want to make simple meals, but has only basic equipment (for example only two plates and two bowls, the frying pan a bit burnt). Don't rely on it too much. Nice big fridge for wine though, and that's what really matters.
The info sheet gives the wifi password, but not the SSID (ie the name of the signal you're looking for). Being in central Paris, my phone picked up dozens of signals... which to use?! The info you need is on the back of the router. Clarissa, I would suggest you change the SSID of your router to 'Clarissa wifi', it's easy to do in the router settings. Even with the right info the wifi was hard to connect to; I had to try dozens of times and restarted both phone and router before I got a connection. After that, all was well.
One last odd thing - there's no curtain in the lounge window, so be careful if you need to go from bed to bathroom in the nude! Maybe that's not something that bothers Parisians though ;)

About the Host, Clarissa
Welcome to your home. I will make sure that you feel comfortable and have a wonderful stay. If you have any question, feel free to ask.
I'm a young entrepreneur and travel a lot for my work, especially between Paris - Berlin, and therefore rent out my apartments in both Paris & Berlin during my absence.
