((website hidden)(phone number hidden)-coolest-street-style-neighborhoods/)
We are a traditional Bed and Breakfast guest house, as opposed to a hostel or apartment
rental. We have recently been awarded ‘SUPERHOST’ status on airbnb and are
thrilled our B and B has been so acknowledged.
We have a number of guest rooms, each with a different personality to suit your individual needs and each accommodating two people. The 'St. Germaine' has a double bed with private 3-pce bath from $120.00/night; the 'Marais' has a queen bed with shared bathroom facilities from 90.00/night; the 'Tuileries' has a double bed with shared bathroom facilities from $80.00. 'Le Suite' is a large suite with private 3-piece bath and kitchenette from $125.00/night. There is a charge of $20.00 for additional guests. Monthly rates are available for long term stays from October to April.
We provide a lovely self catered daily breakfast including coffee, teas, juices, cereals, yogurt, preserves, etc., various breads and bagels, plus fresh home made baked goods, fresh fruit and tropical fruit salad. We also provide two hot breakfast entrees including bacon, eggs, sausages, omelettes, quiche, pancakes and/or French toast.
Also, we have a wonderfully serene back garden (hence, the name) – many guests have said its like a home-away-from-home where you can enjoy your morning coffee, an afternoon glass of wine or even lay out in the sun.
We are in a great location, conveniently close to all major public transportation, great restaurants, bars, art galleries and only a short walk to the Lakeshore bike/jogging path.
Toronto is one of the best cities in the world and we love to host visitors to our city. We are avid travelers; we understand the elements of an excellent holiday -- and accommodation is a key factor.
We look forward to the opportunity to be your hosts !!
Alan & Patricia
IMPORTANT Please note: We have FOUR separate guest rooms which each accommodate TWO people.
The Breakfast Room with an extensive choice of offerings including daily hot entrees prepared by Alan.
Couldn't have asked for more!! Excellent and social hosts with good sensitivity for your privacy. Delivering everything which is promised online with over delivery on cleanliness, comfortable beds, very ambitious breakfast and a great lush private back yard. Location is in a slightly rough pocket of town despite this both neighbourhood and house feels safe. About 500m walk east on Queen Street to a bit more upmarket area with trendy restaurant and bars. Same distance south to the beach and public swimming pool.
Alan and Patricia were excellent hosts. The room was very nicely decorated, big and the toilet was big and clean. The house was amazing, big, clean, nice decoration and majestuous. The garden was lovely and guests could use it whenever. Breakfast was abundant and Alan prepared very nice hot dishes with fruit. I felt like home there! I enjoyed even staying at home and having very nice conversations with them. They both have travelled a lot and we could be chatting for hours! The house is located in a nice and quiet area, by walking distance to the lake Ontario and with good public transport communication. Alan nicely offered to bring me to the metro station as I was carrying heavy stuff to travel to the airport. If I ever come back to Toronto, I will definitely come to their place :)
Alan & Patricia were perfect hosts!
The B&B is located in a up and coming area that is fun to explore. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops.
Planning to come back in the summer to enjoy the backyard!
Our stay in Toronto was nothing but spectacular, which is largely credited to staying with Alan and Patricia at the Garden House. When we first arrived in Toronto, we were having issues with our debit card, which we were trying to use in order to use public transportation. With our bank closed until Monday, Alan and Patricia kindly got us day passes so that we wouldn't need "waste a day" of our vacation. They have a warm, welcoming home, and were always quick to offer a coat or umbrella whenever the weather took an unexpected turn. Though we had picked a few shops and districts to tour prior to our arrival, we were able to experience so much more of the city through their recommendations. There wasn't a single question I could ask about the city that they didn't have an answer for. The sleep was great, the food was excellent, and the next time we head over there we will probably adjust our travel time just to make sure we can stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay at Patricia and Alan's bed and breakfast. They are very wonderful, friendly hosts and made us feel very welcome indeed! The pictures are exactly as shown but even better. The rose garden is amazing (landscaped by Patricia; she is very talented) Actually there is only two pictures shown on the listing and yet when we arrived the rooms and washroom (as well as the garden) was a very pleasant surprise.
Upon arrival we were given our privacy and given a tour. We stayed in the Marais room and had access to a shared washroom; both are huge and modern. There is a beautiful jacuzzi in the bathroom with candles which I would have definitely loved to have used had it not been a shared bathroom (but then we learned the day we were leaving we were the only guests there in the end so in fact we could have but we didn't want to hog the bathroom). It is so nice and quiet and private we didn't even know if there was a other guest or not.
The garden is an escape haven on its own and I would have spent time there if we had more than 1 night as we also wanted to spend time in the neighbourhood. All you need is a good book, great company and a glass of wine while you unwind in the garden and privacy of your room if that's what you're into and I definite love that.
We had a lovely conversation over breakfast; the food is very generous. There was so much variety from hot and cold to choose from. You would be delighted.
The place is super clean; air conditioning in the bedroom is not too cold, not too warm, just comfortable and there is also a fan in the room if you like to moderate the temperature as you like it.
We also had access to a small fridge, kettle, coffee, tea outside our room. It was just like staying in a hotel but at a b&b in someone's home.
There is also a flat screen TV in the room with basic channels if you want to watch a movie.
The neighbourhood is delightful and there is such an array of restaurants to choose from just 5 mins walk from their home. You are in close proximity to buses, subway and streetcar and can get anywhere in the city easily.
We will definitely love to come back and stay with them again and stay longer next time. It's definitely a great getaway or stay-cation!! We highly recommend the Garden House to anybody.
Thanks Patricia and Alan!!
My boyfriend and I were in Toronto for the weekend of Caribana and were lucky enough to be hosted by Patricia and Alan. They were absolutely the best hosts-from their hospitality in welcoming us to their BnB, to them finding us a secure parking spot (which would have otherwise been a massive dilemma, it being the Caribana weekend). Our stay could not have gone better and the homemade breakfast was to die for.
This was my first time staying at a BnB, and it could not have gone any better.
Thank you, Patricia and Alan! Hope you both are as excited for the season premiere of Breaking Bad as we are! Cheers!
My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this B & B. Pat and Allen were the perfect hosts. The room and bathroom were comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was generous and delicious. Also loved the charm and history of the neighbourhood. Would recommend this place to all.
