Our Stay in this Apartment was simply perfect! The communication with Mélissa was impeccable, the Apartment is gorgeous and very well equipped, the location is superbe - for my taste the best area in Paris. I already booked my next trip - of course staying in this stunning Apartment!!
We spent five wonderful days in Melissa's apartment in Paris. It is huge...more than ample space for 6 of us. And the location in Montmartre is great. Fun neighborhood with lots of cafes, bakeries, supermarkets, and it's a short walk to Sacre Coeur. The apartment is older and so doesn't have all the modern amenities (though there is a full kitchen and a washer/dryer), but it has so much character and charm that you won't care that the floors are a little creaky. I heartily recommend the apartment. Also, Melissa was very good to work with and really helpful.
Huge, huge, huge! The studio of a famous architect who did a renovation on Notre Dame, artistically decorated, super conveniently located to Montmartre, 3 metro stops and 2 bus lines direct south to the Louvre and Notre Dame.
We had a wonderful time there for a week. The owners are a really kind artsy couple. They had a friend meet us and introduce us to the apartment and a bottle of red. Great communication through out! They had left so much space for us in the wardrobe and the bathroom. It was like we were in a hotel.
The apartment was one of the best parts of staying in Paris. The leaving room has these humongous windows, airy and fresh. We had a great time with the family drinking wine there. The kitchen is eat in and perfect for A family of 4. The many bathrooms and toilets were super convenient. Comfortable beds and pillows. I really can rave about the apartment for a long time. Did I mention that this place redefines cathedral ceilings? I've never been in a house with such high ceilings. They just don't make those anymore.
Some things to be aware of -- like most historic apartment buildings in Paris it doesn't have an elevator. The apartment is on the 3rd floor so not a big deal but it is not accessible. Given the central location the apartment is very quiet. No noisy traffic noise, the only noise coming in might be the occasional steps you hear from upstairs or a party music drifting through.
Also the apartment does require a deposit of 500 euro even though it is not included in the listing. We arranged it last minute through airbnb to charge my credit card. Airbnb was awesome as always. This will probably be updated in the listing.
Overall a wonderful, wonderful experience of great value given the huge space!!
-invest some time in understanding bus lines 67 and 85. It will save you so much time and avoid a bothersome Change of metro lines when you head south (the Eiffel Tower is faster on the metro although there is a direct bus line there too with no changes). Get the map "plan des rues" from the metro which will show you everything.
-great grocery shopping from around the corner and from Carrefour.
-the owners have great restaurant recommendations. Definitely take them up on it!!
