This brand new bachelor is very conveniently located in downtown Toronto. The apartment is in our basement, has a complete kitchen, bathroom with a full shower, and a couple of closets for storage.
We are located in the Annex (Seaton Village) area, across the street from the Christie subway stop, and also have a Bixi bikeshare stop a couple of streets over. We are close to the University of Toronto (UofT), the ROM, AGO, and a number of different neighbourhoods.
From the apartment you can hang out across the street at Christie Pits park, or walk down to Bloor street to enjoy excellent Korean and Japanese food or enjoy one of the best Latin places (Tacos al Asador) in Toronto. Finish off with an espresso from Sam James coffee shop, and you'll understand why we love our area.
We speak a number of languages in our house and are happy to help you with getting you oriented around Toronto. In addition to English, we speak German, French, Spanish, Hebrew and ASL.
A couple of things to note about this apartment is that we live above the subway and you do feel the trains rumbling through occasionally. Not a bother for us and our children, but if you're a light sleeper this may not work for you. Also, the apartment does not have an outside window, just one looking at an interior hallway. A 24/7 coin laundry is available just across the street.

Michael was a great host and his apartment was the perfect place to stay for my visit to Toronto. Great value for the money! I'd recommend it to anyone.
Michael's place was great, and he was a great host! I stayed for a month while doing research at the University of Toronto, and Michael's place was a perfect place to stay - great location + a beautiful studio apartment with all the amenities I needed throughout my month-long stay! The bathroom was especially nice compared to many other studio apartments I have seen.
Michael was a great host, even helping me for upwards of an hour and a half early one morning when my car wouldn't start. He's obviously a great guy who really seems to care about the people who are staying with him. When I return to Toronto I plan to stay with him again if his apartments are available.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Michaels apartment for about a month.
We had a great experience and enjoyed our stay a lot! The studio is very nice and clean and it's almost next to the subway. It's perfect for two people and the kitchen has almost everything.
You can reach everything within a few minutes, there is a 24/7 laundry right across the street, groceries are very close, too, and there are so many restaurants and bars just to reach by walking.
Mike and Nathalie are great hosts, very nice, helping and friendly, and always there if you need something.
Overall we had a great time and would always come back again!
My girlfriend and I stayed with Michael for about 2 months. We had a great time in the city and really enjoyed the studio. Its smaller than the pictures make it seem, but you can totally make it work (its cosy!). Michael was a very nice person and was there to receive us the first day and offered us help with whatever we needed. Everything in the studio works great and they have stocked the kitchen with as many appliances you may need. The only thing we had a little trouble adjusting to the first couple of nights was the noise of the subway (which passes right under the studio), but after the 2nd night you don't even notice it. The studio has a great location, 2 blocks away from the subway station, 1/2 block away from a 24 hour laundry place, and walking distance to many many good restaurants. Overall we had a great time and would definitely consider going back.
This was my first time and I have no doubt to say that everthing was perfect at Michael´s Studio. First of all, He was very kind ant gave me all the information about how to proceed, to get there, etc. He was always avaliable and alert if I neeeded something. Besides that, the studio stay in the middle of Koreatown, to much close to Cristhie Subway, but at the same time it was calm and warm. It was excelent to know Toronto and relax at end of the day.
The studio itself is very organized, clean, usefull and has everthing thar you might need to cooking or take a good shower.
Michael is a fantastic host. He is very friendly and welcoming and exceptionally friendly. The apartment is cosy and warm, which was ideal considering the weather outside! It is located in a fantastic position, close to many trendy bars, café's and restaurants. It is also conveniently located near Christie Station, which provides easy access to the subway and Downtown Toronto.
My stay in the Annex studio lasted just over a month and it was wonderful. The studio is very well-equipped, clean, secure and in close proximity to shops, banks, restaurants and the subway. Although relatively close to a vibrant area, the studio itself is very quiet, except for the odd rumble of the subway which I actually found quite comforting!
Within the studio, there is a full-sized fridge-freezer, kettle, cooker, toaster oven and all the cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery you could possibly need. The bed can be converted into a couch and there are also 2 chairs, a desk, a "comfy" arm-chair, built in closet and wi-fi. The bathroom is a good size and has a walk-in shower.
The bonus of this studio is NOT the location, amenities or size but the hosts Michael and Nathalie; they are probably the most genuine, helpful and friendly people you could ever have as hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable during your stay and the hospitality they displayed was quite moving at times!
Book one of their studios for your next stay in Toronto and you will see why all the reviewers rave about them.
We rent the studio during one month and it was amazing!
Micheal and his family are very nice and helpfull.
The studio was very clean with all we need and also convenient (in the center of the city, 3 blocs form many attractions).
We enjoy our stay in this appartment!

Amazing, it was a very great stay!. Mike was a great host. His basement suite is nice and clean. It has almost everything you need and close to restaurant and subway (2 minutes walk) I am very recommend this place.
This studio in the middle of the Annex was the perfect home base for my husband and I to explore Toronto from - we were comfortable and close to everything, were able to walk from here to most of the landmarks of the city, and found the local coffee shops and restaurants that Mike recommended to be excellent. Mike and his family were very warm and considerate hosts - communicated before we arrived and were very flexible about our check-out - and the studio itself was well-appointed, cozy, and clean. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit Toronto and would enthusiastically recommend this studio to other airbnb users.
