The space
Welcome to the Billie Holiday Suite — a 2-bedroom jazz-inspired apartment at Maison 226, perfect for families and small groups who want space, character, and the best location in Hot Springs.

🎵 The Jazz Experience Named for the incomparable Billie Holiday, this suite carries her spirit in every detail. Hand-painted artwork by local artist Patrick Cunningham, original pieces from Jackson Square in New Orleans, and a design sensibility that feels more like a curated gallery than a vacation rental.

🛏️ Sleeping — 2 Bedrooms. This suite sleeps 4 adults comfortably and can sleep 6 if you have a couple adventurous kids. The master bedroom features a plush king bed with Capital Hotel-quality mattress. The second bedroom is a charming bunk room — and here’s the story: the bunk bed and door were built from reclaimed boards salvaged from the historic Knickerbocker Hotel next door, originally built in 1890. Your kids will enjoy sleeping on a piece of Hot Springs history. The living room sofa also converts, sleeping up to 6 guests total.

🍳 Full Kitchen Full-size oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, well-stocked coffee station, and everything you need to cook real meals. Coffee and condiments provided. Families especially appreciate saving on dining — make breakfast in your own kitchen and spend the savings on experiences.

🌿 Your Private Balcony New Orleans-style balcony overlooking Prospect Avenue with views of towering magnolia trees. Morning coffee, evening wine, or just watching the world go by.

*Great for Families Two separate bedrooms means parents get privacy and kids get their own space. The full kitchen makes family meals easy. Walking distance to the National Park, the Gangster Museum, and downtown ice cream shops.

📐 Space At ~948 sq ft with 2 bedrooms, this is more living space than most downtown apartments — and more than 4x a typical hotel room.

🏛️ Maison 226 is a completely restored 120-year-old historic building with New Orleans-inspired design. Five jazz-themed suites honor legends who performed in Hot Springs during its golden musical era.

Neighborhood highlights

Location is everything here. You are staying in the most walkable corner of downtown Hot Springs — right where the Central Avenue commercial district meets the Quapaw and Prospect Historical Districts, where Colonial Revival and Craftsman architecture line the streets.

You are one block from Bathhouse Row and the entrance to Hot Springs National Park — the oldest federally protected land in the country, built around the forty-seven thermal springs that have drawn visitors for over two hundred years. Walk down the Grand Promenade to see the springs themselves, soak publicly at the Quapaw Bathhouse, step into the Buckstaff for the traditional bathhouse experience, or cross the street to the Superior Bathhouse Brewery, the only brewery in the country operating inside a national park, pouring beer and root beer brewed with thermal water.

The neighborhood’s story runs wider than the baths. One mile east, on Malvern Avenue, the Woodmen of the Union Building and the Pythian Bathhouse once anchored what was called “Black Broadway” — the corridor that made Hot Springs one of the Chitlin’ Circuit’s most important southern stops during segregation. Because the thermal waters were federally regulated, this was one of the few American resort towns where Black entertainers could perform, stay, and access the baths. That history is the soul of our five jazz suites.

Downtown is yours on foot: galleries, restaurants, the Gangster Museum of America, live music, art walks, and the trailheads up Hot Springs Mountain and West Mountain — These are all a short walk from your front door.
