Adirondack beauty all year! Fully furnished home has lovely great room, two bedrooms, one bath, basement family room, large deck, outdoor fire pit, screened porch with lake glimpse, rights to private lake, w/d, fireplace with wood, in quiet wooded setting. Central location.

The space
More like going home than renting! The house is fully furnished (including a pack and play, high chair with splat mat and baby gate) for comfort and ease of function. Large, airy rooms are filled with Adirondack light. Movies, games, a fire pit (NY State burning bans may apply), and a variety of reading material are provided for rainy days and evenings. The large outdoor deck has it's own picnic table, grill and lots of comfortable seating. The screened in porch is a perfect spot for morning coffee and late night game time providing a great area for insect free relaxation throughout the day. Sadly, trees have grown with time and our lake view has become limited to more of a lake glimpse. In spite of what some of our reviews imply Lake View House is not a lake front property. The access to (private) Friends Lake is a seven minute walk from the house and can be accessed only on foot as there is no parking at the shore. At the house there are large lawn areas for relaxing in warm weather or making your own sleigh runs when it's snowy. Skates, xc skis, sleds, and snowshoes are provided in a variety of sizes. Beach and water toys, floats, noodles, canoes, 1 or 2 man kayaks, with 5 adult and 3 children life jackets provided during the summer season. Semi-private access to Friends Lake's natural (as in wooded) and somewhat stony shoreline provides opportunities for fun whatever the season. Although we provide boats for our guests enjoyment there is no dock at this time. We ask that guests enjoy the lake quietly (no glass containers or fires please) as a sign of respect for neighbors. (Because the shoreline at our access is wooded and rocky we recommend the public sand beach located 5 minutes from the house for swimming and sunbathing.) This is a perfect spot for triathlon training from May through October. Cable, WiFi, and a land line for emergency use are included. In spite of what some of our reviews say we do not provide a prepared breakfast. We do however, provide breakfast fixings for our guests. The parking area at the house easily accommodates 2-3 vehicles. Maximum occupancy for this space is 5.

Guest access
You can't beat having lake access! However, this house is located centrally and 15-25 minutes from both Gore Mountain and Lake George Village. The racing at Saratoga is less than an hour south and folks are hard pressed to choose between the lake and the horses! White water rafting, zip lining, hiking, swimming, paddling, fishing, both fine and great casual dining, water parks, 6 Flags Great Escape, fire works, cycling, breathtaking fall foliage, skiing (both downhill and xc), tubing, wicked cool sledding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling, are just some of the things available from this location. There is a public sand beach and boat launch on Loon Lake, a 5 minute drive from the house. Having the Adirondack Mountains as the backdrop for these memorable activities and many, many others is what keeps people coming back year after year.

Other things to note
Special rates available for Saratoga race season and Gore Mountain NYSEF ski season.

The surprising thing about the neighborhood is that you would expect it to be "busy" throughout the day. However, this house is located on a large lot surrounded by woods which makes it seem private and quiet. Lake front access is usually quiet and private but it's important to remember to respect boundary lines as well as the privacy of neighbors.

My husband and I like to make certain that our guests are comfortable and have everything necessary for an outstanding stay in the Adirondacks. As hosts we like to treat our guests as friends and often devote our time to supporting them as they discover the possibilities provided by the northeast USA. Since our style of traveling tends to be by the seat of our pants we know how helpful it can be to have someone who knows the area to point you in the right directions. In our own free time we enjoy kayaking, swimming, fishing, skiing, sleigh riding, ice skating, snowshoeing, gardening, traveling, etc.. My husband Lyle loves all forms of extreme sports and is an excellent and very artistic wood worker. I enjoy a wide variety of artistic endeavors (weaving, book binding, felting, paper making, mixed media projects and clay work), reading, and cooking. Wow, five things I couldn't live without are my husband, family, the great outdoors, art, and good food. If I had to name a sixth it would be fishing. My favorite travel destinations are colorful third world countries, books and movies would be anything suspenseful that ends well, shows need to be visually delightful and/or have strong talent, music that I most often play tends to be restful but now and then I like to turn up the volume and dance around to something much more lively. Food is kind of in a category by itself as I'm a real foodie and love ethnic varieties full of flavor and surprises.
