This was our second stay with Claudia in Oakland. We chose to stay in the same room again. It is such a comfortable space, and well appointed. We really enjoy the sitting area with the couch and TV, the table and chairs, the large closet, and private bathroom. Claudia keeps the fridge and pantry stocked with basic breakfast foods, and everything you need for your morning coffee or tea. The location is perfect for walking to Lake Merritt and many wonderful restaurants! We will certainly stay here in the future.
I had stayed at Claudia's house before in another room. This time, I enjoyed staying in this large room with a private bath. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was in an excellent location as it was close to my family. I only briefly met Claudia, and otherwise, I was left to myself, which was fine with me.
Claudia, greeted at the door in a very positive manor. She gave us a tour of her beautiful 100 yr. old manor. It is beyond lovely. Pictures are true to life. Lovely neighborhood. Hope to return at some point. A good value. Lake within a short walk.
Claudia actually came and picked me up from the BART station in Oakland. She was very welcoming and friendly. She gave me many ideas on things to do locally, places to eat and things to see. She enjoys where she lives and sharing her knowledge. She was also flexible when I wanted to leave my luggage beyond the normal check out time, which really helped me out on my last day in San Francisco. Her house is lovely and the room I stayed in was very comfortable with a soft sofa, large TV, large bathroom and walk-in robe. The BART station is about 20 minutes walk from the accommodation, so it is easy to go into San Francisco. The local area is lovely. I recommend a walk around Lake Merritt. It is about 3.1 miles around - a bit over an hour if you walk briskly. If you take it easy though you can enjoy all the local birdlife, joggers, dog walkers and other colourful characters, as well as a variety of plants and variety of architecture characteristic of Oakland. There is no shortage of local bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from, all less than 5 minutes walk away. So very convenient. I highly recommend staying at Claudia's house.
This was a lovely place to stay in Oakland. I know the city well, and this location is perfect. The hosts greated me when i arrived, and showed me all the marvelous amenities of this house. My room was clean, quiet, airy and spacious. The hosts were immediately available and helpful. I will return here as often as I can
We had a wonderful stay. The studio is even better than the photos. Comfortable bed, fabulous bathroom and great location.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and we could have had no better introduction than by our host Claudia. She graciously volunteered to pick us up (we exited the subway at the wrong station) and then gave us a driving tour of Oakland. Her home is beautiful and in a great location at the north end of Lake Merritt: the Grand Theater; the Saturday morning farmers market; and Lake Shore Drive. Outstanding room, high-back tub, and more space than you could ever need. A super stay and a super host. Wonderful!

Love attention to detail and excellent service. After living in Asia for many years I really appreciate the subtle luxuries in life that make a difference. Friendly, artistic and caring are qualities that best describe my nature. We started using AirBnB to help fund our online video start-up, Minimash. Sadly the business didn't happen, but we stuck with Airbnb. Love cooking, baking, DIY, crafts, cheese, micro-beers, art, photography and all things beautiful in any shape and form.
