Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Welcome to the Curious Farmhouse, a, light-filled retreat on 43 acres of meadows, trails, a pond, and mountain views. Two king bedrooms, a bunk room, two full and one half bath, a dreamy patio, local art, and even a roll-away TV (for screen nights or screen-free ones). Quiet, cozy, and mins from Minnewaska and Mohonk.

The space
A beautifully renovated 1850s farmhouse tucked into 43 private acres of wildflower meadows, winding trails, and views of the Shawangunk Ridge. This is the kind of place that invites you to breathe out—quiet, light-filled, and designed to feel like home. It’s a little more spacious than our cottage nearby, a little more refined, but just as easy to settle into.

Ideal for two couples, a family, or a few friends in town for a wedding (or working one), the Curious Farmhouse has a generous layout but a cozy, grounded feel. Think: cloud-soft sofas, local art and vintage finds, curated touches, and wide windows that glow in the morning and sparkle at night under a sky full of stars.

> Light-Filled Interiors + Modern Comfort

The home balances old charm with thoughtful renovations. The living room is soft and inviting, the dining room fits six for dinner or games, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need—from an electric cooktop and oven to a coffee maker, microwave, and dishwasher.

Two bedrooms have king beds and ensuite access; the third is cozier, with a twin bunk bed and a desk. Two full bathrooms are upstairs (one with laundry), plus a half bath downstairs. Public Goods products included.

> Outside: A Whole Other Living Space

The east-facing patio catches dreamy morning light - perfect for coffee, yoga, or cutting flowers from the meadow for a bouquet. There’s a grill, fire pit, outdoor seating that’s almost as comfy as inside, and a big dining table for warm evening meals. The view stretches over the wildflowers and pond all the way to the Gunks.

There’s also a flat grassy lawn between the barns (shared with our nearby cottage) that’s perfect for lawn games, picnics, or just lying in the grass.

> The Land

This was once a working dairy farm and now it’s a slow, open landscape meant to be explored. You’ll find trails mowed through the fields, a path down to the pond, a small orchard with Asian pears in the fall, and even a bald eagle nest in the trees near the house.

The Curious Farmhouse sits far back from the road, with Rondout Creek nearby, and shares the 43-acre property with Wildflower Cottagec just down the road and available to book separately or together. You can find it by clicking on our profile and viewing our other listings.

> Location, Location

You’re just minutes from some of the best in the region: INNESS (incredible restaurant and spa) , Westwind Orchard, Arrowood Farms, Ravenwood, Mill & Main restaurant and cafe, Flying Goose, Accord Market, Bluebird Wine, Saunderskill Farm, Kelder’s Farm, SkateTime Roller Rink, and hundreds of acres of protected land and trails at Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve (with some of the best climbing in the East Coast).

And when you're home, you’re really home with windows glowing at night, a firepit, and a sky full of stars.

> Pet Friendly + Meticulously Cleaned

We love to welcome well-behaved dogs, and ask for a $50 fee per pet per stay to help with additional cleaning and wear. While the yard isn’t fully fenced, it’s open and inviting—just keep pups leashed near the road. We vacuum and wipe all surfaces between guests to ensure the space is fresh and clean.

Guest access
Self check-in with a keypad. Parking available next to the house for two cars and along the circular drive, if necessary.

Other things to note
> Curious Guesthouses includes additional listings in the region—find them by clicking on our profile

> You might see or hear guests staying at Wildflower Cottage (also on the property), but the homes are spaced for privacy and quiet...most people don't know they're part of the same property!

> Lawn between the barns is shared and open for play, picnics, or quiet stargazing

> And yes… there really is a bald eagle nest in the trees near the house

Neighborhood highlights

This historic farm is in the heart of the Rondout Valley, a special area nestled between the Catskills and the Shawangunk mountains. Accord and its neighboring hamlet of Kerhonkson are beloved for their proximity to some of the best hiking in the area (at all levels!) and their handful of highly regarded restaurants and amenities like INNESS, Mill & Main, Westwind Orchard, Arrowood Farms, Harana Market, Accord Market, and more. It's also an historical farming area with Saunderskill Farms, one of the oldest farms in the country, just accross the street. There's pick your own opportunities there and at nearby Kelder's Farm, as well as farmstands galore! SkateTime 209 - the retro roller rink across the street from the farm - was reopened in 2023 and now boasts DJ nights, an arcade, great food and snacks, and drinks. This is also a great area to explore, with easy/beautiful drives to Kingston, New Paltz, Stone Ridge/High Falls/Rosendale, Ellenville, Woodstock, and more!
