My home is in a quiet neighborhood only a block away from bus lines and a 15 minute walk to the Max. The bedroom has a full bed and the bathroom is shared. You're welcome to the kitchen and the laundry is in the basement if you'd like to use it.
Private bedroom in my cozy home. You'll have full access to the house and kitchen, so make yourself as at home as you'd like. Laundry is in the basement if you need it. I'm very pet friendly and have a fully fenced backyard. My dog, Rosco, will be onsite if I'm home during your stay, so please bring friendly pets unless your stay is during my absence. If I do happen to be out of town when you'd like to stay, my sister is five minutes away and will be your local contact. I'm a teacher, so my summers are pretty busy fitting all my fun in. I'm five minutes from the MAX for easy downtown access and there's a bus stop within two blocks. I'm also located near quaint little St. John's and only 15 minutes from Sauvie Island where you'll find a sandy beach, great hiking, and farmer's markets. If canoeing or kayaking is more your speed, Smith and Bybee Lakes is five minutes away and has some great birding as well. Beautiful Columbia Park is four blocks away with a great walking path and big, gorgeous trees.
Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen and your dog in the yard. Smoking is fine outside, but please put any butts in the ashtray or garbage.
Christine was helpful and communicative . the neighborhood was fine and was in a local that was important for my travels. Being not
that familiar with the airbnb procedures and housing situations this place is compact and privacy is at a minimum.....but its the way the
place is arranged ......fine for me but more privacy would be better and at that point you just find a differnet place... We did have an
unusal situation and it did get worked out......I would stay there again.....oh yea Roscoe the dog is great and let him take you for a walk and you'll get a good view of north portland
Christina's place was perfect and she is a great host. Her dog is very sweet and didn't at all mind sharing the house with our own furry friend. The neighborhood is quiet and great for relaxing, but just a short distance from everything Portland has to offer.
Christina was great! The house was nice and clean, their dogs were cuddly, the roommates were all super friendly and engaging! I brought my daughter with me and we both felt very at home and welcome.
I am very grateful to Christina for being so understanding when I felt I needed to be in a different place. She went on airbnb and modified the reservation so that I could receive a refund. We crossed paths briefly as I arrived and as she, her boyfriend and her dog were leaving. The house is very small and I think it would have felt uncomfortably small if there had been more people and a large dog in the house at the same time (her wonderful friend and small dog were there and it was OK). I was in Portland because my daughter was having trouble in college/dorm and I needed to be in a place where she could come and be with me and where we could have a space to just be together and try to figure things out. I was also working remotely and tight on funds so I needed to use the kitchen. If you are passing through Portland or will be only needing a place to sleep, this clean bedroom and shared bathroom will be fine. The kitchen was very small and older and does not have a clean look.
I offer my clean and cozy room at an incredibly fair price. Use of the kitchen and laundry facilities is a bonus. I love my kitchen and the retro Nutone oven set up. In fact, I've received compliments on it. I don't appreciate the comment about it not having a "clean look" as it is cleaned on a regular basis. This is my home, so, yes, the kitchen is often in use and not just waiting for guests to use it as a hotel kitchenette would be.
I'm kinda new at airbnb, but im learning that I need to make better arrival info. Coz that can be important. The accommodations were fine, very basic, compared to others. It was a bit far to find morning coffee..lol.
The bed was fine, the sheets a bit rough from them pilling.
Great movie with your roommate, glad there was a kitchen chair that was comfortable place for me to sit, often houses are not too comfortable from us older files with bad knees.
But I did get dome good nights, sleep, and much appreciated you sharing tour house.
We booked Christina's place in the morning of our arrival to Portland and she was out of town for the days we wanted to stay as well but it all turned out perfectly. The place is nice and clean accommodation totally recommended.
Christina was super quick to respond to my booking on the day of (actually, a few hours before I was to arrive in Portland!). Though she didn't stay in the house while I was there, the room was clean and just what I was looking for. The price made it even more of a steal!
I'm a 6th grade teacher and have been for the past nine years. During my summers, I do lots of hiking and try to keep up with my yard. I'm easy-going and informal. I'm originally from near Rochester, NY, but have been in Portland for 13 years, so it's home.
