Nob/Russian Hill location in perhaps the best spot in The City! Live in a real neighborhood in a shared apartment from which you can walk to everything.
Great location with a great view of the City. A fully furnished large bedroom with everything you need.
Your own room. A Shared bathroom, kitchen and a laundry nook.
Interaction with Guests
You might see me once a day if I'm not traveling... If you wanna go out for a drink, thats great. If you are totally busy doing your own thing, that's fine too.
This is an authentic neighborhood, very San Francisco. There's a cable car right outside your door, a world class restaurant, but hardly any tourists. And that's the key to this place: you're in the heart of the city without feeling too busy or touristy.
This place is within walking distance of four great neighborhoods: Russian Hill, Nob Hill, North Beach China town. Financial District is a short 15 minute downhill walk. BART and muni are close at hand 10/12 are right at the apartment. the 30 and the 1 are just a few blocks away.
Other Things to Note
This is a good place or someone transitioning to The City. A good price for a few months but too expensive for long term rental.
We expect person who knows how to share a home and can take care of themselves. No pets, no smoking.
This was my first airbnb and stayed at Michael's for more than 30 days. The location is great, safe and convenient to explore the city. Plus the view from the room is wonderful. The place is great for a short visit but not for an extended stay. The garbage in the kitchen and bathroom were not taken out often. In addition, I found some dust on the desk when I arrived. Overall it was a pleasant stay.
I arrived a couple of hours later because of a delayed flight, but that wasn't any problem. Michael welcomed me and explained everything, Eric was there too. They are both very friendly and helpful if I needed anything. The room was as advertised and the bed is really comfortable. Because of my busy schedule I wasn't there very much. The view is great and in a good neighborhood. Although I bought a 7-day ticket for the Muni, I haven't used it because I found everything in walking distance from the apartment. The first two days it was quite a workout going up- and downhill if you're not used to it, but hey, that's part of the experience (was my first stay overseas). I would really recommend this room to anyone who needs a place to stay during their visit of San Francisco.
I spent a week at Michael´s place and, overall it was a nice experience. All went smoothly with the keys etc. I didn´t get to see the guys more than once but I wasn´t too much indoors either. (who would in SF? :) The location is really nice and the view from the room very San Francisco. A pleasant stay, well recommended, and I might easily be back there.
BRILLIANT! This was my very first Airbnb, plus my first trip to San Francisco. Michael was very helpful as I planned my trip, and the location was easy to find from 4th Street where I came up from the BART train, straight onto a cable car, and up to Nob Hill, so easy navigation for anyone new in town.
I was met at the door by Michael who was friendly without being fussy and very easy to get on with. The room has a most amazing view, and it's true – you can access the roof if you wish, for amazing views by night and day.
I stayed just one night, but packed a lot in. Fisherman's Wharf is a short walk, as is the Coit Tower. There's grocery store a few doors up towards the Cable Car museum, and China Town is very close.
I felt very safe walking at night, and was charmed by the cable cars running right past in the street below.
The room was clean and comfy, with plenty of space for two (I guess – I was travelling alone!). The only facilities I used other than the bed was the bathroom and wifi, although not at the same time!
Clean, comfy – ideal location, great views, top host. A big thumbs up from me.
I had a great stay at Michael's apartment. The location is why I chose the place and it was perfect for exploring SF. If you're happy to walk around (and your calves are up to the hills!) then this apartment will be ideal.
Michael was extremely helpful from the moment I got there; he even gave me the bus fare when I didn't have change so that I could catch a bus that allowed me to make the CalTrain I needed to catch! He was also very accommodating re check out times based on my flight times. Seeing as I was out a lot I didn't see him much during my stay, but Michael was definitely a great host.
The room itself has plenty of space and a double bed. The wifi worked perfectly. The room was a bit warm so I slept with the window open but I didn't have any trouble sleeping with noise from the street - it's a pretty quiet block. There are some really nice cafés within a few blocks as well.
Overall, the room worked out perfectly and I'm sure it would work out the same way for others.
I was coming to SF for the first time in SF and I was a bit scared, Michael was super attentive so I could feel comfortable arriving to his place. He was there when I arrived and she showed me the place. It is a great house and good spot if you like to see the cable car everyday and astonishing view from the city just from the window of the bedroom you'll be sleeping in. If you need something, Michael is available just a message away. He is really friendly and he is also available to go around in the city if you want to. Eric is a really nice person. You'll also have your own space and your own time. You'll have access to the kitchen as well.
Staying at Michael's place was really good and I recommend him to everyone that is looking beyond cold hotels.
