Interaction with Guests
You might see me once a day if I'm not traveling... If you wanna go out for a drink, thats great. If you are totally busy doing your own thing, that's fine too.
This is an authentic neighborhood, very San Francisco. There's a cable car right outside your door, a world class restaurant, but hardly any tourists. And that's the key to this place: you're in the heart of the city without feeling too busy or touristy.
This place is within walking distance of four great neighborhoods: Russian Hill, Nob Hill, North Beach China town. Financial District is a short 15 minute downhill walk. BART and muni are close at hand 10/12 are right at the apartment. the 30 and the 1 are just a few blocks away.
Other Things to Note
This is a good place or someone transitioning to The City. A good price for a few months but too expensive for long term rental.
We expect person who knows how to share a home and can take care of themselves. No pets, no smoking.
Overall, a good experience. The place was nice, clean and homey. Michael was out of town but he did communicate that a friend and his roommate would show me place. The home was easy to find in a safe location -- but look at where you're going to be walking and from what direction you'll be returning, because it really is up the hill and you don't want to have to be hoofing up that late at night.
As the other reviews say this is a great location and everyone was very welcoming when/if you see them - hey, even the neighbors stopped to talk!
The downside is having the cable car right outside your door, no double glazing to mask the noise so be thankful earplugs are provided. The bed is also a bit on the squishy side but after walking back from Pier 39 you won't really mind.
I love San Fran, being near fisherman's wharf and this is a lot cheaper than a hotel but the noise could put some people off.
This was my first air bnb so didn't really know what to expect. Check in/check out was smooth, very easy. Michael was out of town and I only saw his roommate briefly once or twice. I felt like I had the place to myself. The location and the view are great. Water view from the room! The cable car right outside made it easy to get around, but light sleepers beware, it runs about 6 am to 1 am and it is loud. I barely slept at all. I also found the bed pretty uncomfortable, but I freely admit to being a bed snob. I'm used to a much firmer mattress. At less than half the price of a downtown hotel, I really can't complain.
Michael's apartment was in a great location at Nob Hill. It was easy walking distance to North Beach, Chinatown and Financial District. This was really convenient as I was moving to San Francisco for the first time for work in the Financial District.
Michael assisted me with my bags up the two flights of stairs upon arrival. The room was clean and spacious with lots of storage and hanging space.
The room had a great view. However, it was slightly noisy for my liking due to the cable cars on the street. Not ideal if you're staying longer term. The bathroom could be cleaned more regularly.
It was handy having the laundry in the apartment. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
Host made me feel very welcomed and accommodated for my arrival time. Really nice and comfortable bed and the listing was very accurate.
I had a great time staying in Michael's apartment, its in a very good location close to Chinatown, and also walkable to Financial District or Wharf. Michael and Eric are both very nice and glad to help me.
When I arrived Michael waited for me outside to let me in. He said I would hardly see him and I hardly did. But in the beginning when I did see him he was very friendly and gave me a lot of suggestions to go visit.
