Interaction with Guests
I live upstairs so I am very accessible for all the guests questions!
Its diversity, good cheap food and easy access to NYC with the Transit Hub at Journal Square servicing the city and NJ.

You can get a permit to park on the street.

We spent 10 days in June in Jersey City in Barbara's house. Barbara was super warm and helpful and guided guided us quickly trough Jersey City. The apartment itself was as described and the transport to the Manhattan is very convinient. We spent all our days in Manhattan so we did not have time to discover the neighborhood itself.
We would recommend Barbara's apartment for everyone who would like to discover New York City for a reasonable price.
I did not meet Barbara in person, but her responses to texts or emails were amazingly fast, complete, and informative.
The unit is just as described. I was surprised that the unit is actually below ground, so the windows are at ground level but are frosted appropriately so privacy is assured. This is a in-city location, so there is traffic noise, which drops significantly at night, but starts again about 6:30am. All in all, the unit is ideally located for travel to the financial district/World Trade Center part of Manhattan; a ten minute walk takes you to the PATH for a twenty-five minute ride to Manhattan or a twenty minute walk takes you to NY Waterways for a more scenic thirteen minute ferry ride, both (email hidden)e PATH will also take you near mid-town.
The unit is perfect for a single traveler, or a couple OK with sleeping on a double bed. The futon mattress is soft and has no frame so can only placed directly on the hardwood floor, so would maybe work well if you are a family with one or two small children. I would not suggest this unit for two couples traveling together!
For a single traveler to NYC wanting an inexpensive alternative to staying in Manhattan, this is a really good choice.
About the Host, Barbara
I am from France and live in this upcoming neighborhood in Jersey City and really like its diversity. I enjoy the arts and nature, traveling and meeting people. I am looking forward to meeting you!
