Eclectic old building in the center of Avignon with basic amenities. No A/C. Lots of steps and stairs both to the room and inside the room, so if you are no able to navigate those well, be aware. Plenty of locks and security, so we felt safe there. Entry way is under construction and full of construction material. Awesome shower and fun art created by the owner. Low beam to the sleeping loft, so beware. Wear a helmet to bed if you sleepwalk!

Great place to stay. Location is central and it's on a nice quiet street. I had some issues with the power and wifi but Alix made sure it was fixed quickly.

The host met us at the door and explained everything to us. The apt is lovely and cheerful and full of light. The building is historical and in the best possible location--right behind the most historical place in the city (The Papal Palace). Many cafes and restaurants are within a few minutes.

Great apartment overlooking a gorgeous little garden--loved opening up the windows and listening to the birds in the mornings. I was very comfortable at Alix's place for my stay of 11 nights. I asked Alix whether there was a hairdryer in the apartment and she provided one especially for my stay! Very sweet. There was an issue with the toilet on my first day, and Alix was quick to respond and send a friend to try to amend the issue. Any questions I had she responded right away. The one challenge of the apartment, and not at all the fault of the host, is that there is no light in the hallway up to the apartment as the building is amidst renovations and the power has been cut. One should always carry a flashlight or phone light--not my favorite thing coming home alone at night. Hopefully it will be fixed soon! Thank you to Alix for a great stay in Avignon.

The room has some quirks that made it less than we'd expected, but it was a very pleasant place to sit and relax when not exploring Avignon. The primary detractors from the feng shui / zen atmosphere that Alix stresses are the very low beam that you must contort yourself around when entering or exiting the loft, and the squeaky loft steps that wake everyone up as you try to sneak into bed. The street-entrance doorway is made of plywood and covered in graffiti, the entrance way is a construction zone, and the steps and landing were very dark. In spite of this, the inside space is relaxing with a pleasant courtyard view, if you don't look down. The building is in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of all the attractions. All in all we enjoyed our stay and felt it was a reasonable value.

This was not our best experience. You arrive to a graffiti covered plywood door as an entrance. You then enter a very dark, unfinished, and creepy "lobby." After checking in, we opened the windows and immediately my wife got about 15 mosquito bites. We had to keep the windows closed the rest of the time and the apartment was very hot. There also was not all of the essentials you would need, such as shampoo. As others have noted, the additional fees you are obligated to pay in cash upon arrival are a bit annoying. I'd prefer those just be included in the cost of the apartment. We were also "encouraged" by the woman who checked us in to clean the apartment ourselves rather than pay the fee. This tells me that the place is probably rarely, if ever, cleaned thoroughly. That said, the location of the apartment is very convenient and it was easy to get around the city.
