Very fun experience living in the historic buildings so close to all the major sites and city center. The apartment had a really modern and comfortable feel to it. Alix's friends helped check us in and out, very friendly and helpful. Would love to come back one day.
Penny is very friendly, good location to live.
Nice Location, nice flat, I can recommand this place.
The city of Avignon is gorgeous, and this apartment was in a great location within the city. The apartment itself was spacious and airy with a modern, cozy feeling. The white walls are covered in colorful art, and the large windows let in the beautiful natural light. The kitchen is fully stocked and we prepared many meals there. The only thing that we did not like as much was the location of the bed...it is up a tiny flight of stairs (almost like a ladder) in a little loft. While the loft was nice and the bed was comfortable, the stairs were unnecessarily treacherous, especially at night if you need to get up to use the bathroom. I would not recommend this apartment for older people, pregnant women or anyone who might have trouble climbing ladder-like stairs. Otherwise, it was lovely!
We stayed at the studio for almost a week. It was just like on the pictures. I would even say that it was bigger in real.
It is clean, nicely decorated and you have everything you need in the studio.
The location can't be better. It is right in the center of Avignon in a quiet street and the studio is even in the back of the building. So no worry at all about noise.
It was a friend of Alix who handed of the keys and gave a little tour in the studio and explained everything perfectly. He was nice and very flexibel with the hours.
We highly recommend this place and if we go back to Avignon we would try this place again.
I stayed in Alix's flat for 10 days. It was great. The flat is very pleasant and full of pretty artistic touches, including her nice paintings. The location was really great, just behind the Palais des Papes with easy access to the rest of Central Avignon. There is a wonderful cinema about 50m from the front door, which is worth a special mention. Perrine was great at showing me everything in the flat. The kitchen is very well equipped - I had four friends round for dinner and it worked fine... Hopefully I will be able to come back one day!
We arrived in Avignon via TGV, which was a 20 euro taxi ride to the apartment; but to note, Ibis Avignon Centre Gare is a 10-15 min walk from the apartment. There is a bus that runs from TGV to Ibis, but since we arrived at night, we just took a cab.
Having been dropped off directly in front of the building was nice, since we probably would not have found it at night without the taxi's GPS. Alix's friend Marjorie was there to welcome us.
Do not be deceived by the darkness upon entering the building (we were provided a mini flashlight for the walk from the front door up to the apartment); the apartment has a quaint, artistic, and homey feel. It overlooks a courtyard, which I suspect would be more lively during the summer.
Some things to note: The shower room does not have a door, so you'd best be comfortable with your travel mates. :) We also had to be vigilant about making sure the water from the shower didn't leak into the rest of the bathroom. Heating was 3 euros per day, but we decided to tough it out (though it can get cold in the winter). Wifi is 10 euro per the stay, which is worth it since the internet is super fast. We took advantage of the kitchen amenities and cooked in. The nearest Carrefour City is on the main road, so grocery shopping was a breeze. Also, I do believe smoking was allowed in the apartment, so sometimes I would get a whiff of cigarette scents (but it may just be that I'm more sensitive as a nonsmoker--it really wasn't a big deal though).
Location is fabulous; located right behind the Pope's Palace, 5 mins from many restaurants, and 10 mins from the bus terminal and post office. It's also near the main street with many shops. We were easily able to bus to Nimes and Pont du Gard during out stay at Alix's; pick up bus schedules from the office of tourism. All in all, I'd definitely recommend Alix's apartment, and even hope to be back again one day!
A very sweet place, perfect size for the two of us to relax, sleep, eat, and head off to explore Avignon. Location can't be beat! Alix didn't meet us, but her friend Perrine couldn't have been more helpful - including finding a late night place to eat, and getting to the train station when we left. Highly recommended :)
I really enjoyed my stay in Avignon at Alix's flat. The flat is very clean, modern and well located. In fact there are some fabulous restaurants right nearby. The flat has a huge window overlooking a lovely private garden and is very quiet at night. The upstairs bedroom has a very comfy bed but it does get a little warm up there. A ceiling fan would help. The living space in the flat is perfect, spacious and very nicely decorated. The sofa bed isn't that comfortable to sleep on though. The only odd thing about the flat is there is no door on the room with the shower, even a curtain would help as otherwise you are visible in the shower to the whole flat. Overall, I loved my visit and would stay here again.
We had an absolutely lovely time in Alix's apartment in Avignon!! It is a beautiful decorated, relaxing space to enjoy- exactly as the pictures suggest.
We were greeted by Alix's friend Perinne who appears to manage the apartments and is a lovely helpful girl who couldn't have been more welcoming. The flat is located an easy 10-15min walk from the central station amongst the cute, quiet streets of Palais des papes. The kitchen is well kitted out with everything you need to cook a nice meal from the local Les Halles.
Enjoy the serenity of this lovely spot!
