The space

Fantastic Apartment in the heart of the city with river views. Refurbished by award winning A2 architects, this unique space offers modern, bright open plan accommodation with amazing views of the Ha'penny Bridge, one of Dublin most famous landmarks.

Recently renovated by award winning A2 Architects, my 2nd floor, open plan studio apartment offers the perfect location to stay in Dublin. Situated right beside the symbol of Dublin, the Ha’penny Bridge, you are in the beating heart of the city.

Everything is within walking distance, with Temple Bar and Trinity College for example just across the bridge and most other major sights a few minutes away . The airport bus is only 100 metres away, not to mention all the bars and restaurants just outside the door. Experiencing the true essence of Dublin couldn’t be any easier.

Previously a 66-metres (710 sq ft) two-bedroom apartment, it was renovated to an open plan, creating a large space that allows full access to natural light. From the window overlooking the river Liffey, you get a great view of the sunset and the feeling of the city passing you by. It’s deceptively easy to just sit at the window and watch as people cross the Ha’penny bridge. I have Wi-fi, a great bathroom and fully functioning kitchen including a Nespresso coffee machine.

Dublin is a conveniently compact city and my apartment is nestled right in the centre of it all, allowing for a hassle free, thoroughly enjoyable place to experience it to the full. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Location cannot be better. You are overlooking the River Liffey and directly above the beautiful Ha'penny Bridge. Cross the bridge and you are in Temple Bar with its numerous bars, restaurants, vintage clothes shops, Project Arts Centre, Gallery of Photography, Irish Film Institute and many other attractions.

Dublin two main pedestrian shopping streets, Grafton and Henry St are about 5 minutes away.
Trinity College with its famous Library is 3 minutes walk.

Dublin is experiencing a Renaissance after a long recession and every week a new exciting restaurant, cultural space or play is opening. It is a great time to be visiting!

The Aircoach bus from the airport drops you 5 minutes away. The LUAS tram stops in Jervis St 2 minutes away but the apartment is so central you probably won't be using public transport at all.
I personally wouldn't recommend car hire as a lot of the streets are one way and it can be tricky to drive around if you are not familiar with the city.

-The sofa bed in the pictures is BoConcept Melo 6070 Double Sofa with reclining and sleeping function. Size as double bed is 173cm wide x 197cm long so suitable for one or two people.
-The Bed is King Size (150 x 200cm) and has a memory foam mattress
Nespresso Lattissimma Plus Machine provided

Interaction with guests

I will likely meet you on your arrival at either the apartment or the airport bus drop off point. If I'm away I will leave arrangements in place for either a friend or the housekeeper to meet you.
I am available 24/7 for urgent things and all 'reasonable' hours for any questions you might have through email, sms, call or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). I will be happy to give you tips about places to see, restaurants, etc when I meet you or at any stage during your stay.

Other things to note

Please also consider that this apartment is right in the very heart of Dublin City. There are lots of positives to this but you have to expect that such a central location won't be exactly tranquil - there'll be the usual 'sounds of the city', especially with the windows open, and there's nothing anyone can do about it, I'm afraid! If this is likely to be an issue for you, let's talk about it before you book.
**From February 2016 all 5 windows have been removed and replaced with double glazed, noise cancelling windows which have greatly improved insulation**

Absolutely splendid experience at Dardo's flat. It truly is the best location for everything Dublin. All within walking distance, taxis, bus routes and the Luas. ( I took the Jervis stop to the Busaras to catch the link this morning) Although bang next to Ha'Penny bridge, it does quiet down. I did not miss a wink and close the windows if it gets too loud for your taste. All was comfortable and convenient. I did not cook but the nespresso machine was helpful. I was checked in by Maria who was very sweet and marvelous. Dardo provides clear and instructive information for your stay. I wish my stay could have been longer and will definitely try to book again for a future trip. I will miss waking up and rushing to open the window to look at the river!

We loved staying at Dardo's beautiful flat. It is so much space for downtown Dublin. It is wonderfully light with beautiful, tall windows, or you can darken it with the window shades for sleeping. We used our small battery-operated sound machine from Bed, Bath & Beyond, which we use for sleeping at our own home, and slept with all the windows open, and slept very, very well. The location is absolutely fantastic. We walked out the front door, up O'Connell Street and along to Glasnevin Cemetery and the National Botanic Gardens one day, and on another day walked over the Ha'Penny Bridge and along to Merrion Square to the National Gallery of Art for the Vermeer exhibit. We walked all around central Dublin. Upon placing your reservation, you receive a wealth of information from Dardo, about the flat and about Dublin, with many, many wonderful suggestions and tips. When we met Dardo, he was very warmly welcoming and informative. We would like to stay at this gorgeous flat again.

Dardo's place is awesome. It is right in the center of where you want to be in Dublin. The place itself is very cool in its own right as well. Dardo was a great host, allowing us to drop off our stuff before check-in. He even provided a few drinks and a light breakfast, which was much appreciated. I highly recommend staying here.

If you want to see all you can see in Dublin--then this flat is exactly where you need to be! It's of course got the wonderful views of Ha'Penny Bridge, but that means it's close to everything you'll want to get to during your visit. Even better the buses (regular city buses and also the tourist buses leaving town to do other tours) ALL pick up right in front or very near by this flat, so it's super convenient plus it is just fun to be in the thick of things! There are wonderful restaurants a quick walk away, and quick groceries as well--places that stay open late. We felt very safe in the building, as it had a double key type entry and didn't have folks wandering in and out off the street as some city centre flats can have. I was most surprised by the fact that it quieted down by the time we wanted to sleep. (He also has great windows that help with that, as well as blinds.:-) ) As for the inside of the apartment, it was spotless, and artsy and comfy. My two sons loved checking out all his interesting books on travel, and the TV was very nice though I'm not sure we ended up turning it on at all, with so much to do! We had good, fast, secure wifi. A great little kitchen setup and a fabulous coffee maker. Just everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Most of all though, Dardo himself was fabulous. He was so friendly and helpful and very communicative, and he was PATIENT with me during my issues with my airbnb app on my phone. Just an all around helpful, friendly guy. You can tell he loves hosting. We hope to stay with him on any return visits. :-)
