Small and basic bedroom in a cute little house in the medina. Perfect for those looking for budget accommodation and basic facilities in a great location less than 10min away by foot from the Square. Sunny terrace and three nice cats in the house.
The bedroom is small but has everything needed for a comfortable life. Bedside table with lamp, wardrobe for your clothes, table and chair and a console to range your stuff. Thick inside curtain on door and window to keep the room isolated from the cold in winter and the heat in summer so it stays comfortable without any major devices.
The house is small but comfortable enough.
There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one kitchen and a terrace which serves as a sunny lounge room. Also shaded area to cope with the heat of Marrakesh.
With the room comes access to internet, kitchen with fridge and washing machine, bathroom and sunny terrace with space to hang your clothes to dry.
The room comes also with towels and bedlinen, so you can use that space on your suitcase for something else.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the house as well so expect to interact a lot with me (and my cats). I like to go and meet the person at the square (or some other place nearby) to walk them to house so as to show the way there.
As this is also my house there are something to consider:
- Whether we become friends, housemates or keep a "guest" and "host" relationship depends on a lot of things like time of your stay, whether you come alone or in couple and general "feeling". Whatever happens, respect for each other's space (whether physical or personal) remains essential.
- I may ask you to feed the cats if I go away for some days (this is, of course, not mandatory, but, in case you say no, there will be somebody from outside the house coming in everyday to do it).
- There are no locks for the rooms. The only key is the one for the front door.
The Mouassine neighborhood is in the center of the medina and offers many activities.
There are a lot of groceries, souvenirs and handicraft shops in the area, as well as restaurants and cafés.
It is also known for hosting a range of picturesque arches and part of the souks.
The house can be only reached by foot or motorbike or bycicle. The closest place to get a taxi is Bab Laqsour about 5 min away by foot. The square of Jema El Fna where you can get taxis and city buses is less than 10 min away. The closest bus station is at Bab Doukkala about 15 min away.
Other Things to Note
The house is cleaned weekly by a professional cleaning lady and I do some tidying up in between.
Be nice to my cats and respectful to the neighbours.
During your stay, your room's cleanliness is your responsibility. If you are not going to help with the cleaning of the common spaces, at least, keep them as you found them.
If you want to bring your own guests, for the evening or to sleep over, please, inform me before. I believe you will agree I have the right to know who comes to my house other than the ones who booked with me.
Smoking allowed on the terrace only.
Patricia picked us up from the meeting point, helped us with our luggage and gave us tip on navigating the complicated way through the souk.
The benefits of the house were its wonderful rooftop terrace and the washing machine we were free to use. Its bathroom and bedroom were completely decent.
We had been warned about there being four cats and a young dog in the house that wasn’t completely toilet trained, but it turned out it was entirely untrained to do his business outside.
As she did not spend the nights at her house, we asked her to take the dog with her and she agreed to it. This happened one out of four nights. She told us because she had other plans. Even when she was at home she ignored the mess. Despite for a cleaner who came once during our weeks stay, the smell of excrements stayed in the whole house.
We don’t know if she was simply overwhelmed by the five pets in her house, but she escaped the mess by sleeping elsewhere. We did not have that choice.
We were also not informed about the additional guest in the house. – A mere word about this would have been nice, considering our room did not lock.
Patricia è stata gentile, siamo anche state a cena fuori insieme.
The room is spacious and comfortable, well located in the old town (Medina). Patricia is helpful and kind. Many animals in the apartment, so it's not so clean. Recommended
The reservation was canceled 44 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Patricia is a very friendly and openminded girl and our stay at her house was great. She gave us tips for our time in Marrakech and was always very helpfull. She didn't act only as a host but also as a friend. Her house offers a great terrace to chill together. I recommend warmly to stay at Patricias home ans spend some time there with Patricia herself.
I had a great experience staying at Patricia's place. First off, making arrangements was very easy--Patricia was responsive and communicative. The room itself was spacious and comfortable and the location was very convenient--most places were within walking distance with the Plaza Jema El Fna being only a five-minute walk away. Patricia herself was a great hostess--very relaxed and easy going, she was able to answer my questions and provided me insight into Moroccan culture. The cats were also very friendly and provided good company. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and would highly recommend it.
Patricia is a very communicative and helpful. We had a nice correspondence after i booked her apartment for my friends - honeymooners. They are really excited and happy about their stay. They found their small cosy room and Patricias's cats very charming. I hope to have a chance to visit her by myself soon.
