Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Located in Montaione's historical village centre (Florence region), the 16th century unit has been restored to a high level. It is conveniently located in the main pedestrian street of town surrounded by restaurants, shops, local markets and events

The space
Montaione is an authentic medieval village located on the green hills of Tuscany surrounded by beautiful vineyards, olive trees and woods. The apartment is fully self contained and furnished to a high standard keeping many characteristic features from the 16th century! The bedrooms can be made up as two doubles or one double to two singles. It has the convenience of retail shops, supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants, post office, banks and the other services you may need. Montaione has a strong sense of community that welcomes visitors to explore its rich history, art, food, culture, festivals and sporting activities. One of the finest golf courses in Italy is only 7km away.

Guest access
Montaione is the perfect place for your holiday from which to discover Tuscany since it is very close to the most important cities of the region: Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra.

Thanks to the endless variety of winding country roads and trails, it is the right place for those who love trekking, cycling holidays or to ride a horse. For those who love Golf, located in the wonderful Tuscan countryside, the 'Castelfalfi Golf Club' gives you the opportunity of an 18 holes Golf course (par 73) which is defined as the most difficult golf course in Italy!

Guest have full access to the apartment.

Other things to note
We are able to provide a child cot and high chair if required.
We can organise for you to have a local Tuscan Chef prepare local, traditional meals and drop them off if you feel like having restaurant quality meals though don't won't to go out after a big day visiting the sights. (Prepare notice required)
We are also able to refer you to a number of organised activities such as cycling tours, Vespa tours, art classes, wine tasting etc.
The apartment is on the second floor (approx. 30 stairs). which is inaccessible for wheelchairs and may present a challenge for people with mobility concerns.
As the apartment is in the historical centre of Montaione and close to the main Piazza you are able to hear the church bells ring on the hour. Many of our guests find this authentic and charming as we do though some guest have given us feedback to mention it in case you are a very light sleeper!
Please note the fire place is currently not functioning and will be available for use from 2019

We love to hear people's stories about their travel through Italy and Australia. We look forward to creating fond memories for people by sharing our pieces of Paradise in Tuscany, Italy and Noosa, Australia. With blood, sweat and tears we renovated the Italian apartment in 2007 with the help of some local tradesman and we are so happy with how it has turned out. We hope you also enjoy the warmth and character of the place and the beauty that surrounds Montaione! Our place in Sunshine Beach, Noosa is very special and after 4 years of living here we still wonder if we are on holidays! Hope you enjoy
