NEWS:
The apartement was elected in the 10 best places to stay with Airbnb on The Culturetrip website, thanks for all our guests!

Péter and Kati's aim is that guests arrive as distant acquaintances and leave as good friends. To those who are interested, they can tell more about the building, the country and their own life, accompanied by a glass of quality red wine from the famous Szekszárd wine region or a shot of pálinka.

From the 30 sq m bedroom / living room guests can enjoy an exceptional view of the Chain Bridge, the Gresham Palace, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the impressive Parliament Building. The apartment is both authentic – its kitchen being equipped with early 20th century tools, traditional Hungarian spices and a marble-topped dining table – and modern, with its bathroom’s beautiful 21st century minimalist design being of the highest standards.
Guests may find many restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, wine shops and supermarkets nearby, and also pharmacies, currency changers, ATMs and different means of transport are also available in the area. The most important sights in the city are also within the walking distance of 5-15 minutes. From Clark Adam square just around the corner, there are a number of buses, trams – and the unique Buda Castle Funicular as well – that take you to the most well-known places of Budapest, like the Castle, the Heroes’ Square, the Basilica or the Mall in the city centre.

About the building:
The history of the house is tightly intertwined with that of Hungary: it was built in the second half of the 19th century, in the close vicinity of one of the most beautiful bridges right in the heart of Budapest and functioned as the permanent residence of the Counts Andrássy until the 20th century. The apartment survived World War II and the communist dictatorship, finally becoming the property of a noble Hungarian family of artists. The owner’s father was a passionate collector of art, many of the apartment’s furniture and paintings are pieces of his collection.
The owner, Péter Zsuffa (45) has played an active part in forming the Hungarian underground culture since the 1980s and ‘90s. Thus the apartment emits an eclectic vibe: it is both classic and modern, bohemian and reliable at the same time. Péter is an artist who has been making fire enamel paintings for 25 years, and his works of art have a quality guarantee of 500 years. His wife Kati is the host of the flat, who's the mom of their 3 children, graduated as an architect. They live just around the corner, therefore they are quick to be at your service in three different languages (English, Italian and German).

Kati and Peters apartment is fantastic - it is such an incredible location, the view really is quite something. Peter picked us up from the airport and took us to the apartment - he gave us a great little tour of Budapest and gave us some recommendations of places to go. Budapest is an amazing city and to have this apartment as a base was brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

We have just returned from a great stay in Budapest. Kati and Peter’s apartment is in the perfect location for seeing the sights of the city, with spectacular views from the windows across to the Chain Bridge and the Parliament Building. The apartment is spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Kati is great at communicating very quickly to any questions you may have both before our arrival and during our stay. Peter is a real gentleman and we had arranged a pick up from the airport, he pointed out some highlights of the city on our journey to the apartment. He also gave us ideas on places to eat and where to catch the local transport from, all very close by. There is a small 'market' shop nearby which Peter will point out that we used, we also ate at the Lanchid Sorozo restaurant which serves good hearty meals (and cider!) at a great price. Although this is a sprawling city it was quite easy to reach many of the sights on foot from the apartment. We didn’t feel that we needed to do a night time boat trip as we had the perfect view from the apartment. It’s also relatively easy to climb up to the Fisherman’s Bastion for a beautiful night time view of Matthias Church, the Bastion and the Parliament Building. Kati and Peter were exceptional hosts, nothing is too much trouble, you only have to ask. Having said that we had no problems at all! We thouroughly enjoyed our stay in beautiful Budapest in Kati and Peter's apartment.

This is a great apartment in a perfect location for exploring the castle district or the whole of Pest just over the chain bridge. This is very much not the hippest or most bustling part of town, but it is stunningly beautiful, great to come back and relax in, and there are great cafés and restaurants a short walk away. Apartment is well equipped and a good size for two (Inc. lovely high ceilings!) Kati and her husband were friendly and helpful throughout; being very flexible with check in and check out and sharing local knowledge. Excellent value for money, we were made to feel very welcome indeed.
