This open plan living apartment is perfect for a couple looking to be in the heart of Rio's 'Zona Sul' and 1 minute walk from world famous Copacabana beach! With one queen size bed & 2 pullout sofas it can accommodate up to 4 people if needed.
The 5 nights minimum is just for the period of Carnival. Our normal minimum is 3 nights.
The apartment is almost completely open plan, only the kitchen and bathroom have doors, and is the perfect size for a couple (though will happily hold two children or a group of 3-4 close friends as long as they are prepared to sleep on the pull out sofas).
The front door opens into the living room, complete with TV, two pull out single sofa beds and a storage area for coats, bags etc.
Through the living room there is a small dining area with large windows opening up onto the busy avenue (the apartment is on the 8th floor so the noise isn't too bad but exists!). The kitchen comes off the dining area (complete with a small cooktop) and so does the bedroom which is fit with a queen size bed, an abundance of storage/closet space, TV and full size mirror.
The bathroom, with shower, toilet and hand basin with room to spare, comes off the bedroom.
The apartment has an air conditioning unit, an absolute must in the temperatures of Rio!, which makes a constant purr which drowns out the street noise (unless something particularly exciting is happening!). It also has wifi and a 24hr doorman.
We've tried to stock the apartment with everything you might need but are more than happy to add something at the request of our guests.
The apartment has elevator access and is situation on the corner of two main avenues which is great for public transport (buses) or for hailing a taxi. The building has a 24h doorman. There are 3 supermarkets within 5 minutes, many banks, a drugstore and several restaurants and bars. Not to mention the 1 minutes walk to Copacabana beach!
The metro station is about 10 minutes walk.
Interaction with guests
Even though the name of the apartment building is 'Alone', you won't be! My partner and I live nearby and are available by phone or text to help with anything you might need. We also have a small guide book (hand written!) that we give to each of our guests to help them get to know (and fall in love we hope) Rio!
We speak both English and Portuguese.
- No smoking or pets.
- Let us know if anything in the apartment is broken.
- Linens and towels are provided
- Please respect our neighbours, they respect you! Keep the noise down after 10pm.
Please & thank you!
I am a New Zealander living in Rio de Janeiro with my Brazilian partner, Ricardo (Ricardo and I rent out the apartment together). I fell in love with Rio and Brazil 6 years ago and have been living in Rio for the past 1 and a half years.
Ricardo and I are both designers and own a small sugar-free popsicles business and we ride around the city on the weekends selling our product! We hope when you are visiting you can find us.
