The neighborhood is considered one of the hot neighborhoods in NYC right now. Interaction with Guests
We are happy to answer all of your questions and provide you with plenty of information regarding the neighborhood and our home.
Please note that dogs are considered, but no cats due to family allergies.
We are in the middle of one of NY's hottest neighborhoods. World class architecture, food, art meets cobble stone streets, tree-lined parks and stunning views of the bridges and lower Manhattan. DUMBO is one of the reasons why Brooklyn is so chin right now.
One of the most charming things about this visually stunning corner in the city is that we are not filled with chain stores. No Victoria's Secret or Barnes+Noble. Like NY neighborhoods used to be -- we have our own bookstores, toy stores, high end fashion, vintage fashion…our own galleries, cafes, chocolatier, coffee-roaster, french bakery and restaurants. The restaurants are very highly rated. Its still a true NY neighborhood compared to Manhattan -- which has unfortunately been taken over by large chains and department stores. The only chain we have is a Starbucks.
We are five minutes from 2 major subway lines, the A/C train and then the F train. We are one stop from Manhattan. We are also a very short stroll from the river taxis and river ferries that run along the East River. And of course there are plenty of cabs available through the day and evening in DUMBO.

The listing description is pretty accurate. My family and I love this loft apartment. The neighborhood is pretty convenient and safe.
The house was as pictured and described. A great space in a great part of Brooklyn right by the Brooklyn Bridge. The apartment was clean, spacious and I had no issues getting the key from her son. Karen did change the reservation two days before from two nights to one which was a great inconvenience to my party. The reason was that I would not be arriving until the next day and my co-guests would have to pick up the key. I had had asked if this would be okay when I first booked the apartment a month back and this was indicated to not be an issue. Karen gave a $100 discount off of the one night rate to compensate for the inconvenience.
My family and I spent a wonderful week in New York. Karen is very accommodating and helpful. She made sure everything goes well even if we arrived late at night. The apartment has a great location and is comfortable. You’re one block away from everything you need (market, bakery...), walking 5 minutes you get to the subway and in 10 you’re at the Brooklyn bridge park where you can enjoy the view of Manhattan skyline every night.
My family and I had a wonderful time staying in Karen's apartment. The location of Karen´s apartment was just perfect. Dumbo is nice heighborhood with nice restaurants, perfect croissants, a good grocery store and near the Brooklyn Bridge park from which we had a lovely view of the skyline of Manhattan. It was a short walk to the subway which made getting into Manhattan super easy.
The appartment was perfect! We felt quite at home and had plenty of space. Karen communicated with us asking if everything is go well. She was very helpful during our stay. Her recommendations were great. If you want to visit New York her place is a perfect location. Would absolutely book with her again!

The location of Karen´s apartment was just perfect. Dumbo area is very nice with nice restaurant, the perfect almond croissants, over the top grocery store, bookstores - and of course the Brooklyn Bridge park.
From the beginning of booking process to the minute we left to the airport, Karen always answered all questions very fast and gave nice info on the neighborhood.
The apartment was specious enough for five, although the smaller bedroom bed is not big enough for two tall scandinavians - one of us ended up sleeping downstairs, but it worked out fine. We didn´t get to enjoy the patio due to weather, but it looked nice. Towels and bathrooms were nice, only thing we would have liked to see was soap (she did tell us to bring our own) and some space in the closets for our clothes.
Overall this being our first Air b n´b experience, everything went very smoothly. Karen was flexible on the check out hours and both her and the apartment had a very welcoming feeling. Would absolutely book with her again!
