Neighborhood highlights

You’ll love this small city by the sea. Swansboro has a quaint little downtown with shops and food and live music right where the White Oak River meets the sea. The cottage is walking distance from downtown Swansboro. It’s a 10 minute drive to the Crystal coast beach at Emerald Isle.

2nd Weekend in October
The Swansboro Mullet Festival, the oldest festival in the Crystal Coast, began in 1954. The weekend centers around the small, bony fish that appears as having a purplish-blue tint when found in Eastern North Carolina waters. Swansboro natives remember days long ago when mullets were hauled to shore in nets hooked to tractors along the beach.

In November, Friday after Thanksgiving is the Flotilla. Boats decorated for Christmas parade pass downtown on the water.
