In 10-15 min walking you can reach Monastiraki Square, Plaka, Syntagma Square with the greek Parlament also a lot of mini-markets, supermarkets, open market with fresh meat and fruits, farmacies, banks, restaurants, fast-food, tavernas, Hondos Center, Zara, gift shops etc. The metro and busses stations is 5 min walking, you can reach easily: the airport, the port, the sea-side of Athens. The area is secured because 50 m upper from us is the Central Police Station of Athens. Also the building is closed, there is a buzzer and security cameras. Is a place where you can meet people from all over the world and make new friends.
For the price it was very good. It is really a hostel though, not a room in someone's house.
This was a decent hostel to stay in for a few days, especially for the low cost. Here you get exactly what you pay for. The location is convenient, as it is a short walk to the Omonia metro station in the center of Athens and very close to the main tourist attractions (even walking distance). The only negative thing is that the hostel is not in the nicest area. Omonia has a negative reputation, as my local Greek friends told me. But since I'm not a particularly paranoid person when it comes to unfamiliar neighborhoods, I never felt threatened or scared to walk in the street at night. There were prostitutes hanging around across the street from the hostel at night, but that didn't really bother me either. I guess I'm a quite tolerant person. During the day, the area is totally safe and quite lively with many people and cafes on the streets. Gabrielle and the owner (an old man whose name I don't recall) were very nice people and would be happy to help if you needed anything. The hostel is well maintained and clean, but the rooms were quite warm. Luckily they had fans, otherwise we would have suffered greatly from the heat and humidity. Overall, this was an easy stay with no surprises and I recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive place to stay as long as you aren't expecting luxury.
Quite dirty. But cheap. So I do not complain.
it was really nice staying there. nice staff. the hostel is in the centre of athens near everything. there is a place to cook, wi fi and a computer that you can use for free, very practcal. the room were clean i enjoyed it
nice cheap and clean hostel with friendly staff..good wifi and central too.....enjoy the place!!!phil
The place is very clean, very near of metro stations, and Gabrielle is and adorable and very helpful person. A friend of her take us to the airport at 4.15 am, otherwise it would be expensive and difficult.
When me and my wife reached there at around 2.0 am, there was no one at the reception (just a small desk in the living room). He was hiding behind the sofa where there were 4-5 people with their luggage. The person at the counter was not cooperative and was arrogant. He had given our room to someone else and was not sorry for the same. Instead he was blabbering around. The next day we were given a separate room. The hostel did not provide us any maps/tourist information. The kitchen was shabby and used to be dirty all the time.
Apart from that, the location of the hostel is in "red light district". The owner himself had no information about who was supposed to leave the place when and asked us twice about what were we doing in the hostel.
We have traveled many places, but this was the worst hostel we ever stayed. We understand that it was the cheapest, but there has to be some standard.
