  • This was my very first time to use airbnb and it was a great one! Kris has it down. The guest house is fully equipped with all the essential things and since it's a home, I felt a lot more comfortable than I would have at a hotel. If you stay here, you will know that Kris has put a lot of thought into providing an enjoyable time for the guests. I will definitely remember this place when I plan another trip to Austin in the future.

  • Kris's Modern Guest House was just as we had hoped! The place is new, immaculately clean and very very comfortable. What you see in the pictures is exactly how it is! Kris was a wonderful and helpful hostess. We were in Austin for my daughter's graduation from UT. Kris allowed us to host a BBQ for family and friends. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed, plus liquid refreshments! We had 5 of us at the house and we had plenty of room. My other daughter is getting married in Austin in Oct so we might be back! Conveniently located to an HEB and Walgreen's and resturaunts. Thank you for all of your assistance while we were there!!!

  • We had an awesome time here! All the furniture and living spaces were up-to-date, clean, and comfortable. They had an area with snacks and beverages, and there were plates, mugs, utensils, etc.

The futon was pretty comfortable, the bed was very comfy, and the couches were definitely nap-worthy! Also, there was a guide-book with good places to go around Austin, and it never steered us wrong.

They were super nice and easy to get a hold of. Overall, this was a great stay! Definitely try out Amy's Ice Cream!

  • We loved our stay, and hope to return soon! We came to Austin for a wedding, and chose this place over the nearby hotels. After comparing notes with the other wedding guests, we sure hit the jackpot. Kris' place was far more comfortable, convenient, and affordable. We found the place to be charming, homey, and stocked with everything we could need for our stay. The space is well furnished yet spacious and open. The bedding and towels were super soft! Kris' place is in an ideal location, too! It took us seven minutes to get to the heart of downtown, and not much longer to get to North Austin. The neighborhood is safe and chock full of coffee shops, restaurants, and stores. The best part of our stay was the hostess herself. Kris was so kind and welcoming, and went way above and beyond to make sure not only our stay in the house was great, but that our entire trip was. When my luggage arrived quite late and I was faced with wearing dirty clothes to a wedding, Kris came to the rescue! Kris left some treats to welcome us upon check-in, and also provided a booklet of her yelp reviews to ensure we knew the neighborhood's best eateries and brew houses. This one's an absolute winner!

I love living in Austin! I have been here 8 years and have explored this great city corner to corner. I enjoy going out with friends and trying out new restaurants (and revisiting favorites), exploring everything from the newest gastropub to the latest food trailer find. Sam, a rescue dog of questionable heritage, is my constant companion on walks in my friendly mid-century neighborhood. I have traveled to many places both within the U.S. and abroad. A promise I made to myself years ago is to visit somewhere I haven't been before at least once a year. Some of my most memorable trips have been to Paris, Russia, Brazil, Costa Rica and Yosemite National Park. “Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” – Seneca
