The BIRDCAGE..YES that view is from the porch and no hiking needed. Come relax, stay, and play at the historical birdcage located in Downtown Hot Springs NC. All the amenities of home as well as spectacular views of the town, lovers leap and Hot Springs mountain range. No mountain climbing needed just relaxing on one of four porches or from over 25 windows inside to enjoy the views. Walk to it all, one block from all four restaurants and AT.

The space
Stay in the most eclectic and artistic hand crafted home in the heart of Downtown Hot Springs, NC. Our personal home has amazing views with ease and relaxation at every turn, all four porches have wonderful views . This home is great for long term stays and work from home situations. We have a designated work station, high speed fiber wifi, hot tub, fire pit, fireplace, fully stocked kitchen with full size refrigerator and full size washer and dryer.

MASTER SUITE- a full size bed roosts in the windows to watch the mist rise from the mountains or sunset full of color and fire. The suite is setup with smart TV viewing from the bed or the chaise lounger. There is a designated work desk with office supplies, monitor, and FIBER WIFI so you can work and play all in the same place. Two dressers one for your clothing and other with extra linens, hanging closet with robes, full bathroom with glass shower and full-size washer and dryer. There are two porches on each side of the master suite, one screened to view the town and the other open with clear ceiling to view Lovers Leap and Hot Springs mountain.

LIVING ROOM- enjoy sitting and relaxing by the gas fireplace (Seasonal) or lounging on the couch that has a queen size memory foam pullout with linens under the stairs.

KITCHEN-Check out the hand painted floor while cooking in a fully stocked kitchen. Amenities include Keurig coffee pot, french press, coffee bean grinder, tea kettle, electric hand mixer, rice cooker, crock pot, blender and toaster . Knock gently on the front of full size refrigerator to open and get a cold drink;)

OUTSIDE enjoy sitting in the four person hot tub while watching the sunset. Get out the s'mores and sit around the large fire pit on the front porch while basking in the gorgeous views and all that these mountains have to offer. Like to grill we have a park style charcoal grill and table off the back porch while you take in Lovers Leap and Hot Springs Mountain

"THE BIRDCAGE" is part of Hot Springs NC history. This 120 year old charming beauty was part of the Dorland School property. It served as the nurses quarters and the house next door served as the hospital. The current owner purchased the home over 40 years ago in an almost crumbled state but the bones still strong. The home was restored with some of the original pieces of history still intact and of course plumbing and wiring added as a few of the modern amenities;)

OUR SPACE, see the house rules. The birdcage is not another rental, it's our personal home, long term stays are always better to enjoy the way we do. We want others share the joy and love we have for this amazing space and to witness breath taking views all from the comfort of the couch;)

Enjoy hiking all around the area as well as the Appalachian Trail (AT) and our famous Lovers Leap. We have fantastic fishing, rafting trips with class 4-5 rapids as well as lazy river floats. If you need to rest and relax book an appointment to soak at the spa in one of their mineral water tubs. We have great restaurants all with their local flair.
