The city is paving our road, and this will be very inconvenient to you during construction. This apartment faces the street, with kitchen and bedroom windows right in front where the work is being done. I wish to keep my Super Host status, and I don't want you to be disappointed or unhappy. Only book if you will not in any way review my apt less because of the construction noise, dirt, inconvenience! Thank You. I will discount while road work is ongoing.

Clean, plenty of hot water, kitchen and bathroom very functional. Day bed good for night reading. However, the road outside is rutted and muddy (in monsoon) and the view from the bedroom which is right on the street not providing privacy is of a neighborhood under construction - empty lots, brick buildings with rebar sticking up. In short - a realistic but not romantic view of Mexican life. You must arrange your own garbage pick-up and purified water delivery which we finally figured out. The king bed was very hard.

Kris and Sharyn are great host and willing to help with everything the town has to offer. Cozy little casita for a relaxing time.

This sweet little casita is a real gem. Absolutely lovely with a stunning courtyard. Everyone here has been wonderful: the maid, Paty; the upstairs neighbor; and of course, Sharyn herself, who even left me wine and bread and cheese for my arrival. I definitely plan on returning!

Response from Sharyn:
Thank you Kimberly. I'm proud that at least some of your next novel is being written in my casita. You are a lovely presence here, and always welcome back!

The unit is well equipped, and has a nice patio. Wifi is flaky at times.

Response from Sharyn:
I'll see if I can do something about that wifi. We don't like flaky wifi!

Beautiful room, reminds me of Van Goghs bedroom! The most amazing artistic retreat in the heart of real Mexico.

Sharyn went out of her way to help the Uber driver find the place. I had a lovely stay and did not want to leave. The home was cozy and comfortable. Sharyn even brought toys for my 1 year old daughter to play with. It is just outside of the city in a quiet neighborhood but only a mile from downtown San Miguel. I would highly recommend staying here.

Sharyn was a wonderful host, and helped by leaving a few basic foodstuffs in the kitchen to make the beginning of our stay that much more easier. Our casita was very comfortable, and there were fun travelers in the other units that made our stay that much more enjoyable. While there's so much to do in San Miguel, we always enjoyed our downtime at the Hideaway.

I retired to Mexico from California with a desire to re-connect to creativity and fun and adventure. It has not disappointed me! Inspiration is everywhere. I feel so fortunate to live in a thriving artist colony. I had no idea how culturally diverse and wonderful Mexico is. Come for a visit, and you just may stay forever for the lifestyle!

I have a son, a daughter, and 3 wonderful grandchildren still in California and New Mexico.
