The apartment is in a prime location. The listing was spot on and indeed correctly named, a wonderful Edwardian. The space is large, very clean, and nicely appointed. Your host is extremely gracious and ... Summary is taken from reviews by guests.
Beautiful Edwardian flat in the heart of Alamo Square in San Francisco. Enjoy the Edwardian style of this house plan with its inviting facade one block off the heart of Alamo Square. Inside, key features of this flat include a master bedroom, living room/dining room, newly remodeled kitchen, laundry area, office, and sunlit front room. Other features include special ceiling treatments, 10 foot ceilings, and a private outdoor city garden/patio. For now, I am renting a one of my three bedrooms. The Air BnB room has a queen size bed.
Public transit is at the doorstep. Several gourmet grocers are within two to five blocks. NOPA, one of the more popular San Francisco restaurants is 4 blocks away. The Fillmore jazz corridor with live music starts with 3 blocks with Yoshi's, Sheba Lounge and Rassales. James Beard awarded, State Bird Provision is located in the Jazz corridor. Be sure to make your reservation two months in advance or dine after 9pm!
The painted ladies, aka postcard row located in Alamo Sq park is a block away.
During your stay you should experience everything San Francisco and that starts by living in Alamo Square.
This is a smoke free area. In addition, SF city & county law requires you to smoke at minimum 10 feet away from any entrance door.

Amrita is very kind and thoughtful and her house if lovely.
Would absolutely recommend to anyone who's looking for a great launch pad into San Francisco!
Amrita’s place does not show like the photographs. She was abroad when I arrived, a friend was staying there and showed me around. There are minimal amenities throughout. Be advised that the separate toilet from the sink and shower makes it difficult to use one or the other when someone else is using either. There is no fan ventilation in either. The bedroom is spare, the bed is low on the floor with a mattress, no box spring and a wood frame. The pillows are flat and need replacing, adding a couple more might help. The bedroom floor needs more throw rugs. There is no storage for clothes, a closet door shows in the site photograph but the door leads nowhere. There are a few hangers on the outside of the door. There's no chest of drawers, I kept my clothing in my suitcase on the floor. No locks on the bedroom doors. The wi-fi was undependable, lots of time wasted waiting for it to load. Had to use my iPhone hotspot most of the time. The front room was sunny and a good place to read and work. Parking on the street was easy. All in all, I was disappointed.
Sorry Mark you had such a rotten time!
1. In my listing it does list that the bath and WC are separate thereby creating better efficiency.
2. The photos were taken and uploaded by Airbnb photographers I sure the company knows what it is doing!
3. I would to hear from you around what amenities that you were derived and what you would like. A rant just because you are in a bad mood can destroy a small business.
4. If you need a bed with a box spring you should have been communicative in the booking process.
5. Rugs. Travel. with your own
6. Chest of drawers: Travel with your own for a two night stay. I am not about to buy you one!
6. Please do not come back. You are NOT welcome here.
Thank you Amrita for being such a fantastic host!
I had a great time, the house is lovely (really comfortable bed), its in a quiet neighbourhood but with good transport connections, Alamo Park nearby and some really nice shops, bars and cafes too.
Amrita is very accommodating, friendly and knows where all the good places to visit and eat are!
It really felt like staying with an old friend, I'll definitely be back!
Amrita is a great host and a mine of good information on what to do and where to eat.
Her residence is very comfortable and is a home away from home.
I will stay here whenever I go to San Francisco.
Amrita is the best host ever!
She was waiting for my check in and gave all info were needed.
I left the flat straight away to walk around and the feeling I got of the neighborhood was already familiar just after my first 10 mins thanks to a glorious Alamo Park in 2 mins walk and cool bars in Divisadero St.
My friend arrived later in the eve and we spent the night with Amrita and friends.
She gave us all the right tips for the full day in the city and gave us passes for transports.
The day after we all had an amazing breakfast cooked from her ( plus a gift for our road trip too ) .
Definitely the host you would love to have wherever you go and the good person you want to get to know.
Well done Amrita
Airbnb is lucky to have a supplier like you!
Thank you and Ale for staying. I hope we all stay in touch. Loved laughing with you and cooking for the two of you. Are you still alive or did you kill each other on the road trip. Awaiting updates. Thank you for being part of my 'random yet beautiful life.'
I could not have been more happily ensconced in San Francisco than I was at Amrita Daing's. Amrita is the consummate host, and her home is exquisite.
The apartment is great, as described in the listing. The neighborhood is very quiet, I had a great time here.
Amrita is very friendly and an excellent host, I totally recommend this place !
In my free time I love to travel, especially in Europe, and have visited many cool places. I also like going to Yoga, hanging out with friends, and enjoy good food and wine.
