The Space

(Please view my other apartments located steps away if this apartment is already booked. Thanks!)

Be in the thick of San Francisco’s uber-lively downtown hub for shopping, dining and nightlife - HAYES VALLEY. This private studio with full eat-in kitchen and full bath has all the comforts of home in an idyllic location literally steps from the heart of Hayes Street and Patricia’s Green.

The kitchen is older and is filled with great Sunlight all day. It has a gas range stove top, toaster oven, and all the cooking supplies one would need. It is complimented with a 50’s kitchen set that keeps the mid-century retro vibe.

The bathroom is a small but sufficient size loo with plenty of fresh towels and great water pressure..

The bedroom has a comfortable full size bed (with a thick tempurpedic top) and plentry of pillows. A fun beach/Miami style couch that I absolutely love really makes the whole apartment feel homey and comfortable. It is equipped with an newer TV and Roku - Roku instantly delivers over 150,000 movies and shows from Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, HBO GO etc.

My apartment is located one blocks from the best restaurants;
Absinthe, Jardiniere, Zuni, Bar Jules, The Grove Cafe, Suppenkuche, Blue Bottle Coffee, Ritual Coffee, The Boxing Room, Patxis, La Boulange, etc.
Hayes Valley is the center for a new phenomenon known as "food cart". Read more here (website hidden)

Some of the best drinking places are a minutes walk from my apartment;
Suppenkuche Biergarten, The Smugglers Cove, Place Pigalle, Hotel Biron, Sugar Lounge and my personal favorite Marlena's.

The San Francisco Opera House, City Hall and Asian Art Museum are also two blocks from my front door and give you a great feeling of The City.

Public transportation to downtown tourist and business center is easy and takes about 10 minutes total. It starts with a 5 minute walk to either the Van Ness stop or the Civic Center stop and then a minutes Inbound ride to the next stop - Powell St.
Or, the Outbound direction at either stop will take you to The Castro area or take it further to head to West Portal or even Ocean Beach.

Free street parking is pretty easy to find on my street. The is standard SF parking regulations apply - 2 hour parking, Monday-Saturday, 8am-6pm. This means that you can park for free, all the time, as long as you move your vehicle every two hours between the hours of 8am-6pm to a new parking spot. There are also three parking lots around the corner from my apartment that offer a daily rate of $10, no in's-and-out's.

I hope that you enjoy my apartment!

I give strong preference to requests from people who have information in their profiles. While I'm open to all different kinds of people, I'd prefer not to invite you into my home without knowing something about you. Thank you for your consideration.

  • Ben was very accommodating and pleasant to work with! His place was super cute, very quiet and in an excellent neighborhood. If you're looking for the real SF experience, I would definitely recommend working with Ben and staying in this location!

  • Nice location, apartment is small but cute. No major problem beside the fact that it can get a little noisy a night and the windows are not very well isolated. I would recommend it.

  • Very nice place to stay. We had to wait a while for Ben's confirmation, but waiting was absolutely worth it. His descriptions on how to get into the apartment and all other notes he left where very helpful so thanks for that. Very nice, attractive neighborhoods. We enjoyed breakfast at Boulange (twice actually, because it was just so good) and dinner at The Grove and can highly recommend it. You can walk to Alamo park within 8 Minutes and have a nice view on the city or walk downtown within maybe 15 minutes. If you are not into walking that much, there are many busses leaving in Hayes street which is just one block from the flat. Thank you Ben for making this one more nice airbnb experience.

  • Ben was a great host, and the apartment was clean, easily accessible and perfect for my trip to town. I would definitely stay again. Thanks Ben!

  • Great location, easy to find, and well connected.

    Ben's instructions were very detailed and accurate, the place looks exactly like the pictures and everything was where I expected. I did not see Ben, he buzzed me in, when I had any questions he responded fast and was accommodating & helpful.

    Bring eye mask and ear plugs, the neighbourhood is quiet but you can hear the neighbours when they talk loud in the morning, and curtains don't block the light, so if you want to sleep in / jet lagged, that'll be a challenge.

    would certainly come back again.

  • Easy check-in and check out. Great location and fairly easy street parking. The bed is very comfy.
    On Sunday there was a great little street festival on Octavia. Fun but it made parking hell.

  • Ben accommodated me on a short notice, and it was a breeze checking in and checking out. The location is great; just a stone's throw away from many fabulous restaurants, cafes and shops. The apartment is small but cosy, and has everything I needed for a short stay. It even had Netflix!

    Potential guests should bring along an eye mask and ear plugs: while the neighborhood is very quiet in the night (save for the occasional inconsiderate passers-by whose chatter can be heard from within the apartment), the apartment is just above a garage and the neighbors are up early (and so is the sun).

    While the apartment is neat, tidy and generally clean, the air in the apartment was stale and musky.

  • This was a super last minute reservation and Ben was very accommodating via email and text. Easy check-in & check-out, and the apartment was perfect for myself and a friend. We loved loved loved the neighborhood, we could walk to amazing restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. All in all great place with great location. And a great price, which helps, too.
    Thank you, Ben, for saving our vacation!!

  • Ben was a great host who could accomodate us on a short notice. The apartment is in a convenient location, just a few blocks away from all major transportation. Parking is a bit cumbersome, but a parking garage is around the corner. The apartment itself is small but neat. Nice and quiet. Tons of useful information all around the apartment. Iron and ironing board available. Washer and dryer in the building a big plus.

    Ben even provided everything for breakfast. Overall, we were happy to stay at Ben's apartment!
