Relaxed friendly attitude, good for studying, full use of all amenities, some shared meals, respectful of other guests. We like to have fun but its not a party house. Please note that smoking is only permitted outside on the terrace and not in the rooms
The place was very confortable. Robert was super kind and willing to help and I had a very nice and smooth stay in Arequipa.
He provided us with a map from the city and all the info we could possibly need. Highly recommended!
Wow, what a great place to stay. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and I highly recommend anyone visiting Arequipa to consider staying here. Relaxed atmosphere, fun terrace, great base for exploring Arequipa and the surrounding area. As I also had to work, I was very grateful that the internet connection was solid and fast.
Muy buena elección. Central, a pocas cuadras de la plaza de armas. La habitación, cocina y bańo muy buenas. Excelente la atención y amabilidad de la Sra. Verónica. Atenta a nuestras consultas. 100% Recomendable.
Gaby's mom was there to welcome us to our stay in Arequipa. She could not have been any friendlier towards us. She gave us recommendations for local markets, restaurants, etc, and always had a warm smile on her face. Excellent accomodations. Don't forget to check out the amazing views from the rooftop terrace! I highly recommend staying here whenever you are in Arequipa!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! The location is amazing and everything you could possibly ask for is within walking distance - supermarket, plaza de armas, museums, the Santa Catalina monastery, restaurants, etc. Also, the pictures show exactly how amazing the rooftop terrace is! We were pleasantly surprised that we could do our laundry here (with soap provided) and line dry our clothes in the fresh Arequipa air on the roof terrace! The kitchen has everything you could need to cook meals (though we opted to eat out and experience delicious Peruvian food - try Zig Zag!) as well as travel books and a list of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, favorite bakeries and coffee shops. Also, the airport pickup arranged via Gawain very easy and inexpensive. Though Gawain and Gaby were of town, Gaby's mom Veronica was a HUGE help and the most pleasant person to be around. We loved practicing our Spanish with her, and she even cut us some fresh pineapple when we first arrived. The beds were comfortable, the location safe and quiet. Water pressure was a little low, but otherwise we definitely had enough hot water. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone who wants to stay in Arequipa!
Gawain was very helpful in organizing our stay at his home in Arequipa. He replied promptly to any questions and the information given was very comprehensive. We had no problems at all in finding the house. We arrived very early but where able to drop off our luggage to explore the city. The house is located perfectly, in walking distance to all main sights. Cafes, restaurants and mini markets are abound. When we returned after breakfast Veronica had already prepared the room. She is a lovely lady and was happy to help with our questions. She even helped us picking up a reliable taxi the last day. Thanks to her it felt like a family stay. The rooftop terasse is amazing and provides some great views, particularly at sunset. The accommodation is very clean, and we felt very safe staying here. Overall highly recommended place to stay for your time in Arequipa.
I was really happy to stay at Gawain's home for the month I was in Arequipa! Although Gawain was away, his mother-in-law Veronica lives on site and was super pleasant to have as a roomie. The kitchen is spotless, with everything you need for cooking. The terrace is a great place to relax or do yoga or exercise. The neighbourhood is quiet and very safe to walk around at night and is a short 5 - 15 min. walk to supermercados, San Camillo Market, Plaza De Armas and all the major tour agencies along Calle Jerusalen. The internet was very fast and reliable. The bathroom is clean and large, although to get the water quite hot you need to turn down the pressure. Overall, I was sad to leave and have nothing but good memories. It is a great deal for long term stays, much better than getting a private room at a hostel!
