The Neighborhood

Cultural heritage infuses Mid-Wilshire's museums, music venues, and multitudinous communities. Often referred to as Midtown by LA locals, Mid-Wilshire comprises dozens of neighborhood enclaves, including Koreatown, Little Ethiopia, and contemporary American malls. Walk through first-class farmers' markets, contemplate art at the LACMA, and marvel at your central location between the Hollywood stars and Downtown's soaring skyscrapers. Mid-Wilshire's name says it all—it's mostly in the middle of everything.

The neighborhood boasts the highest concentration of nightclubs and 24-hour businesses in Southern California.

The famous Wiltern Theater is in walking distance. The Art Deco palace inherits its name from its intersection at (Wil)shire and Wes(tern) Avenue. Audiences have applauded musical acts at The Wiltern since 1931.

Overall Guest Satisfaction
Check In
  • Our hosts were responsive, flexible, and accommodating. The room and bathrooms were not very clean, but they covered all basic necessities and the price/location were great. There were plenty of outlets for charging electronics and the free Internet was fast. Bring your own towels. Overall, a good budget place with friendly hosts.

  • cozy and uncomplicated! thanks to the host!

  • The room was little bit dirty and linens for beds and pillows were dirty. However, the room facilities were good to use. Good wifi, big kitchen, two bathrooms, etc. Easy to get to main road and Korea town.

  • Kelly was friendly and helpful. The location was great. Good food nearby. 5 minutes walk to the subway. Even though its koreatown, there are more hispanic people around the neighbourhood than koreans. Apartment might be old but still comfortable.

  • I booked Ryan's place because it was in Koreatown and had many positive reviews. The location was great, close to everything in Koreatown and it was fairly safe to get around. The parking spot was very convenient as well. The host was very communicative and prompt to our request when we asked for towels and addressed issues with wifi speed. However, I wouldn't say the cleanliness of the room was up to my standard. The room had dust laden air (easily can be noticed from a fan in the room) and the floor really needed to be vacuumed. The host provided linens but we had to put them on by ourselves. The other part of the house was not very clean.

  • We enjoyed our stay. Ryan and Kelly were very responsive to our requests. The room was large and clean. The bathrooms and kitchen weren't always up to par, but for the price and location, we were able to look the other way. The problem was fixed quickly. Loved the location and easy access to the buses and subway. We saved a ton by not having to rent a car. The downside was the noise from the street. Sirens and chatter interrupted our sleep a few times. I would stay there again for the value. We saved a lot of money on our LA trip.

  • It was an easy check in, the owner's partner showed me a tour of the house, two bathrooms, kitchen with all amenities. I only stayed for a night, but everything was fine. They had stores only a few blocks down as well as cheap take out (thai.) If I come back to LA, I'd for sure consider staying here again. Easy to get to and from.

  • Our stay was very convenient! This place has a good location and the price is really good. They where able to accommodate three of us in one room which was great.

  • First about the hosts: Ryan (and Kelly) were great hosts. Very responsive with great communication. There were several reservation changes that were requested a couple of weeks prior to my arrival which made me kind of nervous.. but it is totally understood because I was only staying for one night but he had guests that needed to stay long-term. I appreciate him letting me know and accommodating the changes very smoothly. Second about the location: Great location. I was looking for a place near ktown and it was just ideal. Pretty safe area. Near good food places. Third about the accommodation: very clean. The sheets, blankets and pillows were delivered to us straight from laundry and I could tell they were clean b/c the fabric softeners were still stuck on the blankets! (I bet hotels don't even wash them thoroughly..) Bathrooms and kitchens very clean and neatly maintained. I would definitely come again!

  • Bottom line: Really good value for traveling on a budget.
Ryan was responsive with good communication online (didn't meet in person), and Kelly was also responsive, communicative, informative, and helpful.
Practical for basic sleeping arrangements in L.A.s Koreantown.
Easy access to public transportation and/or safe and handy onsite backlot parking. Spacious room with practical sparse furniture. Room, bathrooms and kitchen not sparkling spotless but OK clean. All areas seem to have had some normal "wear & tear" since listed pictures were taken, and not as "fresh" or "pristine" as shown.
Absolutely a great choice for traveling on a budget, and would consider staying again.
