Margerita is located in a small alley just off the main road that leads to the main village square where there is the church, bars, restaurants and shops. Xaghra is the best place to choose for your holiday as there are various tourist attractions - the Ggantija megalithic Temples, Calypso Cave, Ta' Kola Windmill, the Toy Museum, 2 underground caves with stalactites and stalagmites and yet only a few minutes drive away from the red sandy beach - Ramla l-Hamra and rocky beach, Marsalforn where there are many restaurants and night activity. Victoria, the capital city, is less than 10 minutes drive away where you can wander the narrow streets of the Cittadella and capture the beautiful sights of Gozo from its bastions.

The village is probably the earliest inhabited part of Gozo and there are various historical landmarks - Calypso Cave which is mentioned in the Greek myths, Ggantija temples, the earliest of a series of megalithic temples in Malta, Ta' Kola a traditional Gozitan windmill, 2 sites featuring stalactites and stalagmites. The nearest beaches are Ramla l-Hamra famous for its reddish sand and Marsalforn which is mostly a rocky beach and is popular for bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Xaghra is one of the oldest villages in Gozo. History spans from the Greek Mythology where, Calypso Cave, which is located in this village, is located. It is also home to the gantija megaliths, the Xaghra Stone Circle, as well as underground features Xerri's Grotto and Ninu's Cave. Xaghra Parish is dedicated to Our Lady of Victories, locally known as 'il-Bambina'. The liturgical feast is celebrated on the 8th day of September each year and is a crowd puller as it as the last feast in the summer fiesta season. There are also other traditional fiestas organized in this village and Margerita is uniquely located in one of the principle streets in the center of the village where most of the processions and festivities are organized.
