An interesting, challenging place. We felt like home from the first minute. Marc and David are warm and homely, willing to help you have a perfect time. The room was well warmed, clean, silent and with an enormous bed. The food, perfect. Don't hesitate and go meet them and this extrordinary project they're creating!
Staying with Marc was such an amazing time! I already stayed in a few special hostels, but the Gothic Palace is really one of a kind, being there is like being in a different time! The whole town Cardona is such a nice place, with cute old streets, a beautiful castle and a wonderful nature around! It's really small, but there are enough stores to get everything what you need! The landscape is impressive, with beautiful mountains and forests and you can enjoy an amazing view of it from the big terasse of the kitchen! Marc is such a nice guy, he always took the time to answer our questions, talk with us and show us around! He made us feel home and you can sense how much love and work he puts into his place! We are looking forward to see you again Marc!
infrequently in life you may hear someone. maybe you just overhear someone. maybe you don't even hear them in person. just. vicariously. telling of a time. a place. in their life. a time when they were Living. a time when then were Inspired. a time when they Loved. and were with people who Loved.
well. is was here. that I found exactly that. for myself.
see you soon.
This was a special experience. We stayed in a place that Marc is restoring partly to its 14C glory, now sometimes still hidden behind cement walls and extra floors that turned the castle into many apartments more than a 100 years back. We stayed in a spacious room with simple but enough furniture, had a small clean bathroom, a shared kitchen and many rooms to wander around in.. You shouldn't be afraid of a little dust here and there (not in your bedroom or the bathroom) and neither of staying in a place that is in perpetual change. The many layers of history are there to be enjoyed, as well as Marc's stories.
