The Vermont Hygge Loft: a midcentury modern-designed cabin nestled among 70 acres of privately-owned forest with rivers & hiking trails. Enjoy sipping on an espresso or pour-over coffee while listening to a vinyl record, cozy up with snuggly blankets to watch a movie or play a game, stargaze while sitting by the fire on the private deck, or snuggle up in the comfy king-sized bed with the views of treetops and sky all around. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave and we hope you'll love!

The space
Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) is a Danish word evoking cozy comfort and contentment. We love the high vaulted ceilings, beams, and interesting angles of the 1100 SF loft, the 360° window and skylight views that bring the calming forest scenery right into the space, the modern decor, and the super comfy furniture, bed, and cozy blankets.

There is an espresso machine (Nespresso), as well as a pour-over coffee flask and burr grinder for the coffee aficionado. A lovely guitar is there for playing, and vinyl records for listening. We have provided a fun collection of DVDs and games to enjoy.

The deck has cozy spots for soaking in the outdoors or making fires in the wood-burning fire pit or for grilling out. The bathroom is the epitome of luxury with a generous soaking tub with skylight views and a gorgeous walk-in shower. Creating delicious meals is a delight in the full-sized and well-stocked kitchen with large island, gas stove, fridge, and dishwasher.

There is a 2nd airbnb on the property (the Vermont Dream Cabin) that shares a driveway with the Hygge Loft, but all outdoor and indoor living spaces are completely separate/private from each other. The host home is up the hill from the loft. We strive to provide the utmost in privacy for our guests, but we are also usually very available for any needs you might have during your stay should you need anything.

We are working toward getting much higher speed internet as soon as it becomes available. For now, there is DSL that is usually fast enough to stream shows and make WIFI calls, etc., however it is sometimes unreliable and will definitely be slower than what you may be used to if you come from an area with higher population.

The Hygge Loft (the Danish word meaning cozy comfort) is in the rural mountain hollows of the Shires of Vermont, off the beaten path and at the very end of a charming dirt road. Despite the remote feel and privacy of the property, it is still only 15-20 minutes from many fantastic restaurants, coffee houses, and wonderful local shops. We provide a detailed list of favorite restaurants, museums, lakes, shops, and entertainment & adventure destinations. The property itself has many hiking & snowshoe trails, rivers to splash in, and lovely spots to immerse yourself in nature. Surrounding the property are hundreds of more acres of undeveloped land that you are welcome to explore.

We love good coffee, beautiful forests, colorful falls, and snowy winters. We spent 19 years enjoying Colorado before moving to our dream property in Vermont. It took us 7 years of searching for "the one" before we finally found this amazing property. Bryce is a professional photographer and Christine dabbles in house design.

During your stay

The host home is up the hill from the loft on the same property. We like to give our guests privacy to enjoy every moment of their stay, but we are also very available for any needs or questions. We can be easily reached via text/Airbnb app and we love to help whenever it is needed. We enjoy our role as hosts tremendously and take great pride in providing first class service to all of our guests.
The Vermont Dream Cabin Airbnb is also on the property, but no areas except for the driveway are shared, and we have designed the space to maximize privacy and the feeling of having the whole world to yourself.
