Private room with everything you need for a convenient, comfortable stay in New York. Excellent location within Park Slope with easy access to restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Walk to the subway in 2 minutes to get to Manhattan in 15 minutes.
You will have a private bedroom in a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment so there's quite a bit of privacy. The room has its own air conditioner so you can keep cool during New York summers. The apartment also has an easily accessible balcony. The bed in the room is a comfortable daybed that can be expanded to a queen size bed. The room also has a desk and reading chair if you need to get work done. Internet/WiFi is available.
The apartment is on a quiet, tree-lined street in one of the most active and accessible parts of Park Slope. At the end of the block is 5th avenue, which has great restaurants, bars and transportation in the area. Two grocery stores are nearby. Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Museum are about a 10 min walk away. The Union St subway station is at the other end of the block. Atlantic Ave-Barclay's Center is a 10 min walk or 1 subway stop away. Express trains to Manhattan via Atlantic Ave-Barclay's Center are close by: 2/3/4/5/B/D/N/Q/R, LIRR to JFK. You can be in lower Manhattan in 15 min; midtown Manhattan in 20-25 min, door-to-door.
The building was built within the past 10 years, so it's newer than most of the homes in Park Slope.
Guests may use the kitchen and refrigerator for storing food. We have an electric kettle for boiling water for tea or coffee. The bathroom is shared with the hosts. WiFi access is available.
Interaction with Guests
The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment so both the hosts and guests have privacy. We typically have friendly chats with our guests upon arrival, but respect their privacy. Upon request we provide advice about what to visit in the area and how to get to places of interest.
The apartment's location in Park Slope is great because it's close to lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops on 5th and 7th avenues -- not to mention within walking distance of Barclay's Center. I personally like spending time in Prospect Park. Overall, the neighborhood has the right mix of serenity and activity. Park Slope's tree-lined streets are not overwhelmed with traffic like in midtown Manhattan and the neighborhood has plenty to do and see within its vicinity.
Getting around is easy, the R train is around the corner and express trains into Manhattan and elsewhere in Brooklyn are only a few blocks away.
This was my second time with Junius and all was great. It's a nice apartment in a wonderful location, and very quiet. The R train is right around the corner and there are tons of fantastic restaurants and shops within walking distance. Despite a very late arrival due to a very delayed airplane, Junius helped make sure I could get in, no problem. All in all you can't go wrong staying here, it's a great airbnb experience. Thanks!
Junius and his girlfriend are a very friendly couple which lives in a very nice and comfortable apartment, which looks just as well as the pictures. The guestroom is also nice and comfortable. The neighborhood is quite quiet, although the room is on the front side of the house. This is very recreative after a (very) busy day in Manhattan.
The apartment is a 2min walk away from the subway station, where you can take the "R"-line which brings you even to the Times Square without changing to another train. Next to the subway is a delicious bakery ("Brownstone Bagel & Bread Co.") which sells the best bagels which I have eat since a long time! Freshly made, as sandwich or plain - great!
Around the neighborhood there are a lot of restaurants, Delis and small supermarkets. The supermarket at the subway station is open 24h/7days.
The wifi in Junius apartment works very good.
You get the keys for the house and the apartment, so you can come and go whenever you want.
The use of parts of the kitchen (electric kettle, fridge, coffee maker and things like that) is also possible if you want.
It was my first stay in the US and I think, it couldnt almost be better!
The (german) assesment of Clara from november 2013 was very helpful for me.
Thank you very much!
I had great time during my stay. Both Lindsay and Junius are helpful and very kind if you need assistance about the city in general. The house is clean as seen in pictures and its location enables accessing the whole city easily via close subway station.
Great people, nice location, comfortable home and excellent price. This is the place I'm going to stay during my future NYC trips, highly recommended.
I had a fantastic time with Junius and Lindsay. I loved staying here! Bright, comfortable, quiet, private and clean. Great location. The neighborhood is full of good places to eat and drink with very good prices. Very close to subway. Lovely hosts, are both great, warm and welcoming people. I stayed here for the whole month of October. It was my first experience with airbnb and I would definitely stay here again. The place is exactly as described if not nicer than the pictures. Couldn’t have asked for more.
I totally recommend you to stay with them in your next trip to NYC!
Thank you, Junius and Lindsay!!!
I stayed for one week at Juniu's and Lindsay's place and really enjoyed it. The apartment is very nice and matches exactly the description on the photos. The neighbourhood is beautiful and has a lot of restaurants and shops around. After some days liked Brooklyn even more than Manhattan. Manhattan itself can be reached within 15-25 minutes depending where you want to go, the next metro station is just around the corner. I definitely recommend this place and would go there again.
Junius was a great host, and the place was very nice. Great location, very neat and comfortable. Junius always responded promptly and was so helpful with any concerns. I enjoyed my stay!
Book this place for a great Brooklyn experience! The room/apartment as described, super clean, quiet street, comfortable with air con. Junius is a fantastic host. The area was really cool, bars, shops mix of old and new. Lots of exploring between 4th and 7th and really close to the subway to Manhattan. I loved park slope more than Manhattan.
Next time I'm in New York, I want to stay here again.
Thank you, for a great 2 weeks.

I'm from Minnesota and moved all around the country until settling in New York four years ago. I lived in Manhattan for a while before moving to Brooklyn with my girlfriend. I work as a software developer. I like Park Slope's tree lined streets and everything Brooklyn has to offer.
