Other Things to Note
North of Fort Bragg feels much less congested but it's still close to town. The beaches from the cottage north to Westport and beyond never have many people. If you are looking for peaceful and serene, this is the place!
No pets, kids or more than 2 people.
Lindsay's "Zen Jewel Sanctuary" gave us a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. The landscape art is indeed magnificent and the house feels really cozy and has everything you need. We loved the shower! And finally, the dunes are just a 5 minutes walk away. We are already planning to come back!! Thank you Lindsay!
Lindsay was very welcoming and hospitable. :)
She provided us with detailed directions and recommendations about stuff to do in the area. The place was very true to the pictures posted. (Actually, the place was better than the pictures) The place is quiet and secluded. Perfect for a weekend of relaxation. :)
Our experience at the Zen Jewel Sanctuary exceeded our expectations!
The beautiful space and thoughtful design was exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend. The sanctuary had everything we needed from cooking supplies to a diverse selection of reading books. With the floor to ceiling windows, you're able to enjoy the beautiful gardens and listen to all of the nature happening around the area.
Lindsay provided directions and numerous local tips about the surrounding towns, which helped us as we were ready to explore. The house was walking distance to the sand dunes and led us to a secluded beach where we were able to collect handfuls of sand dollars.
We look forward to making this trip a regular thing!
Lindsay's home and property were wonderful! The house was super cozy and the gardens and short walk to the dunes were perfect for our weekend away from the city. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner every night. Listening to the frogs by the pond right before we fell asleep was a perfect ending to every day. We will certainly be back!
Despite the major storm coming through we had a great weekend here. Even a couple of power outages added some adventure to the weekend. Our host provided us with all the necessary resources to get through the power outages and even did nice things like bring us hot water in the morning for coffee/tea. We will be back soon.
We had a wonderfully serene weekend at Lindsay's cottage. The description and photographs were absolutely accurate and went a long way toward capturing the wonderful feeling of the cottage and the gardens. After giving us a few minutes to settle in, Lindsay met us and gave us a warm welcome and a very thorough orientation to the property, and also provided a handbook with instructions, maps, and recommendations. The neighborhood is very quiet, although it's convenient to Highway 1. A short walk down the lane brings you to the dunes on 10-mile beach, where we didn't see another soul. We have only 2 regrets about our stay--that it wasn't longer, and that we didn't avail ourselves of the firepit right outside our door. Next time!
