WINTER DRIVING & PARKING
Our private circle driveway is gravel and fairly steep. During winter, all-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive vehicles, or chains are strongly recommended. During icy or snowy conditions, we encourage you to park at the bottom of the driveway, but off the road. Our neighborhood has both paved and gravel roads that are plowed when it snows. Do not park on the roadside.

Other things to note
PRIVACY
The Glass Treehouse is in a small quiet neighborhood. We do have neighbors to one side, but the decks and hot tub are very private due to boulders, trees and foliage. There is quite a bit of space between houses. The bathroom has frosted privacy windows. There are curtains in the bedroom and shades in the living area. The rest of the windows are bare.

PLEASE BE KIND TO OUR SEPTIC SYSTEM
In the bathroom, only flush toilet paper. Kindly dispose all other products into the trash, even the feminine "flushable” ones. In the kitchen, there is no garbage disposal. Please put food scraps in trash can.

CAUTION: Please keep off waterfalls and boulders as serious injury may occur.

GUEST VERIFICATION: If a guest has no reviews yet, we require Airbnb verifications of government ID, photo, phone, email, and to be at least 25 years of age.

HISTORY
The Glass Treehouse was built in 1969 and fully renovated in 2020. It is a 1050 square foot post and beam Topsider pedestal home nestled in the side of the mountain overlooking creeks and waterfalls. Our road was once the old rail bed for the Eastern Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad, fondly nicknamed Tweetsie. The narrow-gauge railroad operated from the late 19th century until mid 20th century. The steam engines stopped here at a water tower located at this creek.

Born in the 60s
My work: Host and Designer
Great to "meet" you! My husband, Andy, and I thrive on DIY home renovation projects. We bought a neglected 50-year-old octagon house and A-frame with a vision to make them into modern luxe getaways for two. We love hosting so much we sold our home and business to move to the NC mountains in order to manage them full-time. Our heart and mission is to provide an exceptional vacation experience to the best of our ability.
