The Space

Inside the house, enjoy a mix of contemporary and modern. This historic home has been recently renovated and decorated in Mid-Century style.

Downstairs - A large kitchen with new appliances and wares is great for cooking and gathering. Entertain in the dining room with seating for 12 and a Krakauer upright piano. The living room (or parlor as we call it) features a wood stove and 42" television with Wii, Netflix, Amazon and DVD player. You'll even find an unexpected spa-style bathroom paneled in cedar with deep soaking tub for two (also corner shower, dressing room).

Upstairs - 4 bedrooms: One master suite with King-size bed and sitting area with fold out sofa, one shared suite with two double beds and two traditional bedrooms each with a double bed. This level also holds a second bathroom with custom terrarium shower and modern finishes. There is ample closet space and fresh towels and linens provided.

Situated across the road from the catskill creek, sip coffee or enjoy a glass of wine on the front porch as you take in spectacular sunsets against the backdrop of the Catskill Mountains. Grill a feast, nap in the hammock or hang out late night around the fire in our landscaped side yard. Up the hill behind the house, you'll find 4 private acres with a pond. The area is as good for a walk as it is for a game of horse shoes or badminton (provided). Or bring a football for a brisk fall game!
Other perks include a book and board game collection, acoustic guitar and several Wii games.

If you can draw yourself away from the property, there are dozens of attractions nearby in all seasons. Swimming across the road at the Catskill Creek, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, antiquing, wineries, apple orchards - not to mention winter skiing. We (email hidden) updated as we discover more. The charming town of Freehold is just .8 miles away with a general store, pub and an unmatched dining experience at Ruby's Hotel Restaurant(Zagat rated).

There are 35 peaks to hike, 2 mountains for skiing and snowboarding plus Hunter mountains’s Zipline adventure.

  • This was the second Fourth of July we celebrated at Copper Hill House and it was just as perfect as we remembered. Lovely house stocked with all the essentials. Our days were spent relaxing in Catskill Creek. Nights spent BBQing by the fire. The manager of the house conveniently lives across the street in case there are ever any issues. We are all still having withdrawal and are already looking forward to next year. Can't wait to go back!

  • Our bachelorette group had a fabulous stay in Patricia's home. It is situated across from an air field for gliders that flew around throughout the weekend, which was really cool to watch. It is a short walk from an impressive river that is great for tubing or swimming and a large rock for sunning. The dining room and back living room were perfect for a large group, and the bedrooms were all very comfortable. I'd love to stay there again!

  • Copper Hill House is great. We had a group of 9, and plenty of space in the big kitchen, dining room, and outdoors for us to all cook and hang out together. The beds are all comfortable, and the house overall is well stocked. The big yard and surrounding area are both beautiful - we spent lots of time at the creek that's a short walk from the house. I highly recommend packing up and spending the whole day swimming and laying on the rocks!

  • My first time at Copper Hill house and it really could not have gone any better. It's a cozy and well maintained house. The driveway was plowed for us. The kitchen was big, clean, and in good condition with an array of kitchenware to make meals with. I stayed here over valentine's day weekend. Only a quick drive over to Windham mountain, this house works perfectly for a ski weekend.

  • Nine girlfriends and I stayed at the Copper Hill House on a beautiful fall weekend and had the greatest time! The house is spotless and so nicely decorated. Enough to feel home-y without being too cluttered. The bathroom renovations are very nice and all the beds are super comfortable. It was a perfect cozy getaway for conversation and relaxation. Wifi worked great when we needed it. Patricia was very accommodating and helpful throughout the booking process - this was my first Airbnb experience and it was wonderful. Freehold is a tiny town but it is so close to other Catskill areas — we went to Hudson for a day. Highly recommend staying at the Copper Hill House!

  • Amazing stay!! The house was well-stocked with kitchen essentials, linens, and even bathing products. We ventured out to the creek across the airfield (a walk that's really fun in itself, very surreal scenery!), relaxed by the fire pit, and played games in the huge back outdoor area. Overall an extremely cozy environment that made us feel right at home. Thank you so much!!

  • We had the BEST time at Copper Hill House. We went for a low-key bachelorette party and everything was perfect. We spent the day at the creek, which is unbelievably gorgeous, ate Dinner at Ruby's, and relaxed in the house. The house is so well-stocked and even amazingly decorated! We all want to go back!!

  • Our group of nine women had a wonderful time in late July 2013 at the Copper Hill House. The house itself is beautiful -- clean, tidy, and well-decorated. Did not smell musty or old, as some home rentals do. Everyone was very impressed and we were about ready to move in full time :). Everyone agreed that we would stay here again without hesitation and I will be certain to recommend it to friends or colleagues. The location is great, relatively convenient for Philadelphia, NYC, and Boston friends to meet, as we did, and a short drive off the NYS Thruway.

Beds were comfortable and made up with fresh linens upon our arrival. All rooms were tidy, bright, and had fans in the windows. The kitchen is beautiful and modern, with plenty of silverware, dishware, and glasses for our hungry and large group. The living room has a wii which can access Netflix as well as a dvd player. The property itself is large, with a small pond, a badminton court, and horseshoes up the hill. To the side of the house, there are two hammocks nestled in the trees and outdoor couches, tiki torches, and a propane grill in a small clearing. We were able to go on a nice short hike in the woods, and we really enjoyed the creek across the airfield. The neighbors and pilots saw us attempting to find the creek and were very friendly, giving us instructions to the best swimming spot, the grocery store, and restaurant recommendations in town. The creek itself has clear, fresh water and smooth stones. It is as pictured, with slabs of sedimentary rock along the creek bed. There is some algae making the rocks slippery when you first get in, but it clears up quickly and there is a nice place to read magazines and sunbathe on the creek side.

All in all, it was an amazing weekend that was, as Patricia predicted, "magical." She was great about responding to my emails quickly, and was very responsive to my questions and concerns. Thank you so much for sharing your home!

We started staying in the Catskills a few years ago for a break from the city and loved it enough to make a little slice our own. Since work keeps us away sometimes, we wanted to share the joy we get from Copper Hill with other folks. Lauren is a production designer for a tech company by profession and a photo illustrator by trade. Patricia is a restauranteur and is always entrepreneuring into new interests. A love of nature, architecture, furnishing and interior design ties it all together... and we love to travel too! Being a fine mix of social and private, Copper Hill lends to similar people. There are friendly neighbors to chit-chat with and ways to be out and about, but ultimately we want to make sure our guests have the chance to feel as at home in as they would in their own and to recharge. It is a vacation, after all!
