About This Listing
This is a lovely place to stay halfway between an apartment and a hotel room. It is the first floor of a three story with a private entrance and an exclusive driveway. Please read our glowing reviews.
Sausalito is a great place to spend a night...or a few decades (I came here for three months from NYC...twenty-five years ago).
If you're visiting San Francisco, this little village is right on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge...a charming alternative to big city hotels.
It's a convenient HQ for trips to SF with easy access to the California Coast and the Wine Country.
Nightly rates range from $99 for isolated single dates to over $200 for holidays and special events (when a minimum number of nights may be in effect).
This recently renovated modern unit is like a luxurious hotel suite:
A separate bedroom and closet behind french doors (shown open and closed in the photos) with a comfy queen-size bed (and an iron & ironing board).
A living area with a beautiful sectional, gas fireplace (ignited by a remote).
There's a small dining area and breakfast bar.
Bathroom with Jacuzzi tub (with a European-style hand-held shower head, not one mounted on the wall), bathroom sundries and separate WC.
It also has a big screen TV (with cable) in the main room and a second little TV/VHR/Cable in the bedroom, as well as WiFi.
There is no kitchen, but there is a mini-fridge, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee machine, coffee & tea, popcorn, condiments, serving supplies, and a private patio.
There is a driveway exclusive to the Suite which leads to the private entrance but most Guests prefer to park on the street which, unlike most Sausalito roads, is wide and flat. Some cars which are low to the ground (like my litttle convertible) can't cross the crest of the sidewalk, so it's good that there is ample street parking.
It is one beautiful floor, approximately 650 square feet, with an entrance off its own patio (with two tables). There's no lucious landscaping or pool, just a restful and private enclave.
I do my best to juggle the check-in and check-out time needs of the Guests, looking for a compromise between them to allow enough time for a thorough cleaning.
It's a half-block off Bridgeway (Sausalito's main drag), five stoplights to Highway 101 (five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and less than an hour from the wine country) with a bus stop at the corner and off-street parking. A private driveway leads to your front door (if you don't have a low-slung car like I do). It's within walking distance of the Post Office, Grocery, Banks and Restaurants. Just minutes to SF and a short drive to the Redwoods, Beaches, and Wine Country. It is one mile to the Golden Gat Ferry which goes to downtown SF and The Blue & Gold Ferry which goes to Fisherman's Wharf.
It's a great getaway.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Interaction with Guests
I give a brief tour and then disappear. However, I strongly encourage Guests to text me or eMail me or call me if there is any problem at all.
The Suite is two blocks from an upscale supermarket and walking distance to a dozen restaurants, from Mexican to Chinese to French casual. Within one mile, there are over a dozen Italian, American, Thai, and Sushi Ran, one of the most-awarded Japanes restaurants in California.
There is a Golden Gate Transit bus stop on the corner (1/2 block) and the Ferry to San Francisco is one mile south.
Please provide your arrival and departure times as soon as possible so that I may accommodate your preferences if possible.
Joseph was extremely nice, and his house had everything we needed. He provided snacks and drinks if we wanted them, as well as any toiletries we may have forgotten. His house was conveniently located to the marina and the center of Sausalito. A great spot to stay while visiting Sausalito!
Joseph's luxury suite was exactly what we needed after a long weekend in San Francisco. Check in was fantastic. Joseph met us as the door, showed us around and then as mentioned "disappeared." The space is quite large and we found it very comfortable and clean. It was decorated very nicely and had all amenities needed including ample amounts of towels, drinks, snacks. It was an overall great experience and recommend for anyone looking to slow down across the Golden Gate.
Our host Joseph was very welcoming and made a point of greeting us himself when we arrived. He has made this space into an extremely attractive airbnb. It fit our needs perfectly and was very convenient for us. We followed his suggestion for breakfast and were pleased. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed four nights this week at Joseph's beautiful accommodation. Everything was perfect for us. Room spacious, clean and exactly as pictured. I was a little unwell so our days out we're not as long and I really appreciated coming home to our own relaxing space. Loved the location, close to fabulous restaurants and bars, made some fantastic new friends. Easy walk to supermarket for anything else you might need. One morning enjoying the sunshine we noticed a deer feeding in the natural bush behing the property...very special. Thank you Joseph for also helping us with transportation to airport. We loved our stay.
Everything was very nice and Joseph was super accommodating. The place was nicely decorated and we felt right at home. The neighborhood was good and we walked to a great Mexican restaurant and had a lovely meal. All went well! :)
We had a great stay at Joseph's beautiful place in Sausalito. "Luxury Hotel Suite" is the perfect description. We loved the remote control fireplace and jacuzzi bathtub. It was so nice of him to provide fresh towels, water/snacks, as well an FAQ binder. Joseph lives just in front of the suite and was very responsive to questions. Location is right by the bay and there are many cute shops and local speciality stores to explore. I highly recommend staying here!
