This is a lovely place to stay, just minutes from San Francisco. Halfway between an apartment and a hotel suite, it is the 1st floor of a 3 story building with a private entrance and an exclusive driveway.
Please read our numerous glowing reviews.

The space

Sausalito is a great place to spend a night...or a few decades (I came here for three months from NYC...twenty-five years ago).

If you're visiting San Francisco, this little village is right on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge...a charming alternative to big city hotels.

It's a convenient HQ for trips to SF with easy access to the California Coast and the Wine Country.

Nightly rates range from $99 for isolated single dates to over $200 for holidays and special events (when a minimum number of nights may be in effect).

This recently renovated modern unit is like a luxurious hotel suite with a private entrance and no other access from the rest of the building. It's like a studio apartment without a kitchen (just a microwave & coffee maker).

A separate bedroom and closet behind french doors (shown open and closed in the photos) with a comfy queen-size bed.

A living area with a beautiful sectional, gas fireplace (ignited by a remote).

There's a small dining area and breakfast bar.

Bathroom with Jacuzzi tub (with a European-style hand-held shower head, not one mounted on the wall), bathroom sundries and separate WC.

It also has a big screen TV (with cable) in the main room and a second little TV in the bedroom, as well as WiFi.

There is no kitchen, but there is a beverage cooler, washer/dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, coffee machine, coffee & tea, popcorn, condiments, serving supplies, and a private patio.

There is a driveway exclusive to the Suite which leads to the private entrance but most Guests prefer to park on the street which, unlike most Sausalito roads, is wide and flat. Some cars which are low to the ground (like my litttle convertible) can't cross the crest of the sidewalk, so it's good that there is ample street parking.

It is one beautiful floor, approximately 650 square feet, with an entrance off its own patio (with two tables). There isn't a pool or luscious landscaping (thanks to the drought, the lawn has reverted to a field), just a restful and private enclave.

I do my best to juggle the check-in and check-out time needs of the Guests, looking for a compromise between them to allow enough time for a thorough cleaning.

It's a half-block off Bridgeway (Sausalito's main road), five stoplights to Highway 101 (five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and less than an hour from the wine country) with a bus stop at the corner and off-street parking. A private driveway leads to your front door (if you don't have a low-slung car like I do). It's within walking distance of the Post Office, Grocery, Banks and Restaurants. Just minutes to SF and a short drive to the Redwoods, Beaches, and Wine Country. It is one mile to the Golden Gate Ferry which goes to downtown SF and The Blue & Gold Ferry which goes to Fisherman's Wharf.

It's a great getaway.

Joseph went above and beyond to make our stay more comfortable. There was a book full of information about what to do and where to eat. He offered several suggestions that we took him up on and it turned out great! The place was much better than a hotel and so was the price. We saved money on parking and the place was in a nice quiet neighborhood! I highly recommend staying here if you get a chance.

Joseph's place is very easy to find and located close to restaurants. It's a bit of a walk to downtown, but a very easy drive. The place is recently remodeled with beautiful tile, a lovely gas fireplace and a quiet patio for outdoor dining. Great place to stay while visiting the Bay Area!

Joseph communicated well and showed the ropes around the space briefly during check-in. Comfy and relaxing place to stay. Extra amenities like water and snacks. Very easy to navigate to and close to the harbor.
