🎬🏰 If you are a Game of Thrones fan, take a walk to Kaštilac, just a few meters from the house… You’ll be following in the footsteps of “Arya Stark of Winterfell” ⚔️😮

👾 Pokémon GO players: 1 Gym + 5 PokéStops are accessible directly from the house ^^

⛵⚓ Finally, for boating enthusiasts and professionals, the Croatia Nautic Show takes place every year at Marina Kaštela, located less than a 10-minute walk away 😎🌊

🏡📖❤️ "In September 2021, we went back to Croatia, a bit on a whim... to find a house there. Because every time we return to France, Barbara cannot contain her emotion, she who has to leave her country, her family, her friends... The idea of looking for a small pied-à-terre in this beautiful country, and far from the lights of the big cities (so that I can have my starry sky!), had therefore sprouted in our heads. This adventure was intense, full of twists and turns, difficult, but we were extremely lucky to find this house, wedged between the mountain and the sea, in the heart of a protected hamlet, with the appearance of Cocorico village from the video game Zelda, and a stone's throw from the Kaštilac fortress in front of which “Arya Stark of Winterfell” tried in vain to sell oysters, clams and cockles…

✨ The place is magical.

And the encounters we made there are just as interesting: while walking on the small stone bridge that connects the village to Kaštilac, perhaps you will come across Andělka, dean of the place with a tongue-in-cheek humour, who couldn't contain her tears when she saw us leaving, a bit in a hurry, for the airport: her who didn’t have time to offer us the bottles of homemade olive oil she had set aside for us… If you come to Aryjina kuća, maybe you will meet Goca, the lady who has been running the little café just downstairs for twenty or thirty years. Vinko, her husband, a retired sailor, lives in a tiny room on the ground floor of his house: he has trouble walking and only climbs the stairs for his nap and to go to bed at night. Time has not altered his good mood and if you talk a little with him, perhaps he will make you taste his homemade cherry rakija, of which he keeps the secrets of how he makes it.

During these fifteen days spent working on the house, we were totally under the incomparable charm of Kaštel Gomilica. We hope you will feel good there!"

📚️ Kaštel Gomilica is the oldest village in the bay of Kaštela* whose municipality of the same name, the second largest city in the county of Split and Dalmatia, has more than 40,000 inhabitants. The commune developed around 7 castles and Kaštel Gomilica is the second of the 7 "kaštels", starting from the East. The streets are narrow to reach the eponymous castle, which is a kind of small island adjoining the village.

Kaštel Gomilica Castle was founded in the first half of the 16th century by the Benedictine nuns of Split in order to protect their peasants from Turkish invaders. The territory on which the village developed around the castle is a gift from King Zvonimir of Croatia (1078). The Benedictine order of Split also built the Romanesque Church of St. Cosmas and St. Damian here in 1160.

Today the village of Kaštel Gomilica has 5048 inhabitants (2017), and is a tourist hotspot: located by the sea, in the center of the Dalmatian coast, this protected site is only 16 km to the northwest from Split (2nd city of Croatia), and 15 km east of the historic town of Trogir (classified just like Split as a UNESCO World Heritage Site).

*The Kaštela region with its Mediterranean tones, picturesque landscapes and unique composition of its natural environment, has attracted people since prehistoric times: from ancient Greek sailors to today's sun and sea lovers, many came to settle there.

My work: It depends on the moment!
I was born in Zagreb, spent part of my life in Petrinja, and today I live in France. My life story spans from getting engaged in New York to getting married in Nantes—all in the midst of the coronavirus! My husband is French, we have a little princess, and I spend my free time playing handball and cooking (which is almost a daily ritual for me) :)
