My family spent Christmases here for many years, full of happy memories, I can share lots of tips on what to do and where to go. Any questions, just drop me a line x :-)

Interaction with Guests
I live in London and my sister lives in Cheltenham half an hour away.
Quieter end of the Cotswolds with less tourism. Tucked away in protected AONB conservation area.
Good base for Bath, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bristol etc. lovely villages include Minchinhampton, Painswick, Chalford (great playground and stream for younger kids).
Free parking. Best approaching from south (Nailsworth end) if dark as the last bit is narrow
Nearest train station: Stroud
Other Things to Note
Sorry but no group bookings with the aim of having a knees-up please as it's a peaceful area and not fair on our lovely neighbours :)
Just chill out as much as we do and be respectful of our neighbours.
If we have back to back bookings we ask you to check out by 10am/ in at 3pm to allow time for the turnover - usually only happens in July and August. Other times totally up to you.
First of all, Fiona (and her sister Maggie) have been great communicators and facilitators of an amazing Bank Holiday weekend.
Every bit counts and those did, from the effort to make the property available earlier to the milk/croissants left as a nice gesture for breakfast, to the cleanliness of the place once we arrived, without forgetting the towels ready for us to shower up.
Their description of the property was a true reflection of reality. Their guide book for the region as well as the great description their shared prior to arrival have also enabled us to discover the close and wider areas around the property (Nailsworth to Painswick). Fiona also warned us through her directions on how to get to the property and that saved us some painful manoeuvring with the car.
I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE PROPERTY given its location and most importantly its hosts.
Only watch out, phone reception is not good so be ready to disconnect completely and positively.
We had a wonderful four au stay over Easter weekend at this cottage. Everything was brilliant: kitchen very useful, fireplace which delighted our toddler and a lovely garden. The surrounding area was lovely, and the host was very responsive, flexible with late checkin and helpful in general. Would go back for sure!
We loved Fiona's cosy little house and its great location. (Short drive to Nailsworth and its amenities, but far enough away to feel properly in the countryside.) We hope to return some day soon!
Warmest of welcomes and very kind in helping me find the cottage at night. Fiona made me feel entirely at home and she was available at all times. She offered fantastic suggestions for exploring Bath. Much appreciated!
A gorgeous place that was simple to find from the directions provided by Fiona and her sister. We were impressed by the food at the local pub recommended in the information at the house.
A really beautiful area and it certainly felt like a home away from home. Would love to visit again and have recommended to friends.
This was a lovely property with really friendly and accommodating hosts. They put a lot of work in to make the place beautiful, tidy, and a well stocked! I'd never been to this part of the world before but it was well worth visiting. Rural and quaint and everything you want in a country break!
Will definitely consider booking again.
Fantastic peaceful cottage in a lovely hilly location .. Lovely pub food and great walks even if we did get a little wet due to to rainy weather.. Nice log burning stove with plenty of wood kept us toasty. Want it to be my secret but I have to recommend this lovely detonation ..

Dangerous. We always walk there and back as penance. (Look out for the steep footpath short cut)
Great wifi. Lovely private drawing room through a heavy door to the left as you enter.
Nice organic shop. You can walk through a footpath - into the woods opposite cottage, keep heading left until you come to Box Village - turn right on rd. You'll spot a footpath signed Minchinhampton
Idyllic playground, kids can splash in the stream that runs through it.
Great for antiques
Lovely for afternoon tea. V pretty village.
Absolutely stunning - sit in steam baths with views across regency Bath. Can book massages. You can buy cossies there.
