This is a great neighbourhood with local bakeries, butchers, schools, stationers, ironmongers, haberdashers and supermarkets. Everything you might need is within a block or two. There aren't too many tourists so you can see how locals really live! It's safe, just a few blocks from San Telmo, and also close to lots of tourist spots (see below) so you have the best of both worlds.
The famous Aramburu 5-star"molecular gastronomy" restaurant is just across the road, and his new canteen-style bistrot is also only a few doors away.
We are just 3 blocks from Independencia and San Jose subway stations (C line and E line) and near many different bus stops. You can walk to many landmarks such as the Casa Rosa,Congreso and Palacio Barolo
This is a lovely family area, with about 5 schools in the neighbourhood, many local bakeries, grocery stores, butchers, stationers, most everything you could need! We are also super close to the downtown tourist spots like Confiteria Ideal, Cafe Tortoni, the casa rosada and congreso building. Also, there are tango schools and milongas in the area, the famous dancehall Nino Bien is only three blocks away, while Lo De Celia is only 5 blocks away and Carloina Bonaventura's Mariposita tango school is just two blocks away. Escuela Argentina de Tango in the Galeria Pacifico shopping mall is just three stops on the subway.

Good location to see the sights. Kitchen was abit small, room and bathroom were great though. Comfortable place to stay and hosts were really nice. Could use some more traveler comforts from the hosts though, like information on the city and places to see, otherwise great place.
This place was even more impressive than on the pictures. It is located just a 5 minute walk away from San Telmo. Only some of the rooms are rented, so there is enough privacy. We stayed in the suite which comfortably fitted three persons. The rooms were very clean and even equiped with some tourist guides and other useful stuff like tea or coffee for a quick breakfast. A big plus is the patio where you can hang out and recover from the pulsatile city. Lina and Alex, the housekeepers are very nice and helpful in every situation and make you feel at home. I can recommend this place to any future guest!
Really Nice mansion, Good walking distance to thé city and metro nearby. The room and the bathroom are amazing. Just a bit noisy sometimes but you get used to it. Although Cee Jay wasnt there, we have been very well attended by a nice couple living in the house. Very recommandable.
The house was amazing, exactly as it looks on the photos. Alex and Lina are great hosts, very helpful and fun to be around. I highly recommend this place.
Cee Jay wasn't personally present, but house-sitters Alex and Lina were friendly and great; utterly welcoming, helpful and informative.
The suite was pretty much as described, but what was missed was how amazing the building is; a huge old street-mansion that could only be described as an old Palace- a fantastic place to stay!
The quiet location was on the Western edge of San Telmo, where good local life was about 15 mins walk East. It was 5 mins from Independencia Metro stop, and under 45 mins (on foot) from Casa Rosada.
We arrived in Argentina after about 20 hours of flying. We were exhausted. Lina and Alex directed us to a great restaurant a block away where we had a wonderful meal and then took turns napping in a hammock in the courtyard. Welcome to Argentina. This is an elegant old home that is being converted to an elegant hotel, it is an amazing bargain. Our hosts, Lina and Alex are travelers, so they know what travelers need. They were warm, inviting and interesting. They gave us a variety of good suggestions. Above all this is a place that felt very safe to me. They have a triple lock system to get in and out of the facility. The enclosed courtyard complete with a dog, cat and chickens is a homey back yard space. We ended several days with a glass of wine in this courtyard. We were able to walk and take the metro to many of the grand sites of the area, so the location really worked for us.
We have loved staying 2 days in this beautiful and impressive place. This is a castle actually ! We have been warmly welcomed, even though we have arrived quite late in the night. The very spacious room with a private bathroom and a jacuzzi was perfect. Maybe a bit noisy sometimes because of the street. But we have enjoyed the stay and we warmly recommend this place for who wants to visit Buenos Aires, since the location is very great and the advices of the resident very helpful !
